Arsene Wenger is facing the humiliation of a bizarre BIN-BAG protest as angry Arsenal fans begin to vote with their feet.
One supporters’ group is urging their fellow Gooners to put black bin liners over empty red seats at the Emirates during Saturday's match against Blackburn to highlight falling attendances.
Manager Wenger has seen his side slip to seventh in the table after taking just one point from their last four games, and there have been Twitter and Facebook calls for the bin-bag protest plus chants of “we want our money back” during this weekend's lunch-time clash.
Wenger also faced a severe backlash on Twitter, while the Arsenal Supporters’ Trust called on the board and majority shareholder Stan Kroenke to engage more with fans after the club refused to make any big money signings in January.

Kelvin Meadows, of the Where Has Our Arsenal Gone and Black Scarf Movement, insisted that their group would always support the team and Wenger, but questioned the direction of the club.
Meadows said: “What was the point in six per cent price rises last summer if the club do not want to spend? We will always support the team and Wenger deserves respect and to be treated with dignity after everything he’s done for the club.
“If Robin van Persie signs [a new contract], then great. But I don’t know many people who would blame him if he did go in the summer because is the club going to buy players to rebuild the team again?
“It’s not the players’ fault. It’s not even their fault if some of them are not necessarily good enough. But we would like answers from the board.”
The AST also issued a six-point bulletin to members and questions to the board after Arsenal’s latest setback - a goalless draw at Bolton which leaves them in danger of missing out on a £30m-plus Champions League qualification jackpot at the end of the season.
Although the AST insist they will remain behind Wenger for the remainder of the campaign, they urged the club to freeze ticket prices after last year’s increases and called on Kroenke to engage with fans.
Arsenal remain fully committed and supportive of Wenger, whose contract runs until 2014, while the club insist that no decision has been made on season ticket prices.:rofl::rofl:

what a bunch of plastics

most popular colour coats sold are black right? so by putting a black bin bag over the empty seats that shows it too look like more fans sitting there on the tv screens no?
it's not as if the noise will be much difference.

When we sang 'we want our Tottenham back' we didn't have half the recent success that they've had under Wenger. And why wonder 'where have our Arsenal gone'? Weird wording, sounds like an acceptance just to let them go after a quick ponder. Bloody hell, I'm loving this.

It's something Arsenal fans have said for a long time, the attendance for every game is given as 60,000 when they know there are thousands and thousands of empty seats.
It's not such an obviously bad thing but genuine Arsenal fans see it as indicative of the dishonesty at the heart of the board, they feel they are being taken for fools by the board, they are right and they deserve better than that.
It's all good fun though isn't it.:)

But we do the same for qualifiers and early cup games - because they're against lower league oppo the tickets are much less and the games are worth more loyalty points, so despite it showing as a sell out on the site you will nearly always see tons of empty seats at these matches, yet the attendance (i assume worked out from tickets sold, not bodies through turnstyles) is nearly always a sell out.

The fact that the Woolwich are doing it for league matches just makes me suspect that people have bought these tickes ahead of the match, so yeah, the tickets sold indicate a capacity crowd, but then see what dross performs the match before and decide to spend the day hammering bamboo under their toenails instead

Strange protest though - i could understand it if they encouraged everyone to lay hands on white bags or hi-vis vests, but black bags just won't work, as stated by many already.

Another thought - are they intending to take the bags home with them at the end? As i've realised, once everyone has left the stadium, then the bags would send a message to the owners, then you'd be able to see them against all the empty red ones, but is that not littering on a massive scale?

How irresponsible, Woolwich fans.

I wonder how many other legitimate reasons we can come up with why this would be a terrible idea, before they do it this afternoon?

After their 'invincibles' side and their shiny new stadium I'm sure they attracted many of the Piers Morgan esque fans. Now their 7th in the table and haven't won a trophy in years the fair weathers have disappeared.
