Back for 6 weeks of silly season where we get linked with Pirlo, Coentrao, Shaw and fucking Damaio and end up loaning out Adebayor to Besiktas on the last day of the window and signing nobody. NO DOUBT!
It's great to be back.
A suggestion of a point of order:
Can we TOTALLY IGNORE EVERYTHING DUNCAN CASTLES WRITES?
I'm pretty sure that his stuff ain't coming in here anyway, but might as well skip it full stop.
I mooch around here and there and, I think, here in the dark, weird inner sanctum of the ITK thread, we're all pretty much up to speed with the 'Castles writes something on Sulia, promotes it on twitter, you click it, he gets paid' dynamic that goes on but in recent weeks i've seen in quite enlightened corners of the internet, no less, people actually giving credence to his stories. He is currently peddling some 'Levy/AVB massive fall out gone in the summer Hoddle to return' shite. Don't look it up!
Throw enough darts and some will stick in the board.
Otherwise? Whadda we need?
Everyone says strikers and left backs. I think we can limp on in defence, although some World Cup hungry loanee might be a solution with all the injuring going on. I'd prefer to review in the summer. Rose is decent IMO & Verts/ Naughton/ Fryers can play as and when.
Striker wise? If somebody is going then somebody best be a-coming. Fuck knows who but we need to get our average striker age DOWN, big time. Old, gnarly players aren't what this dynamic team is about, speaking of which: a back up goalie, please, one that likes running off his line and is younger than the coach. And we're done til the summer, IMO of course.
