It's like questioning whether Pep Guardiola would manage us or Napoli etc.

Why does it matter?

If your good enough to always be at the top - good for you. It's not easy being consistent.

Vettel was at Red Bull and Ferrari, Mercedes wasn't an option and other good seats were taken, what else was he supposed to do?

It's great that he still has the passion but presently his ability is wasted at Aston Martin.

Great race today! Shame about the RBs right at the beginning, but Max did brilliantly finishing a race with half a car. Alonso was the driver of the day, his defending against Ham was excellent. Good hard racing. :)
I kind of get what you are saying, but Hamilton ended up at the rear of the pack and on a circuit similar to Monaco for passing got himself up to third wasn't the driver of the day? I'm really pleased as a fan for Ocon and Alpine it's superb result but looking from a fans position, saying Alonso was driver of the day is deluded or either Pro Verstappen or anti Hamilton.

Alonso effectively won the race for Ocon. Rarely will you find a driver good enough to stop Lewis passing quickly in those moments. Lewis gets passed even 2 laps earlier he wins the race

I know but Alonso wasn't the driver of the day he was basically not good enough to win the race only to help someone else win.

There is a bit of anti-Hamilton in the Driver of the Day votes - but you can't just look at Hamilton's move through the pack, without acknowledging the colossal mistake that put him in the back of the pack to start with.

Alonso was the perfect teammate for Ocon on the day, I am a Hamilton guy, and have no problem with Alonso as driver of the day.

I understand how LH was put at the back of the back of the pack, be it the teams fault or maybe his but to come from the back to third (now second) was incredible and he's done it in two races in a row after being written off.

It doesn't, same as it doesn't matter what we think about who we will sign, I was curious if anyone thought they would see Lewis sat in another team's car or if he might consider jumping to a different discipline.

I just enjoyed watching the race. I wanted Ham to win, but Alonso had other ideas  I'm pro Ham but try not to get towards the delusional end as some fans can

Absolutely no argument that Lewis was driver of the day - which is a load of old tosh by the way

Agree, Lewis is simply a cut above and will finish as the greatest driver ever (until the next one) but I'm not blind to his whinging and moaning when it isn't going well but then I guess it's also a part of what drives him. People tend to go overboard with Lewis good and bad, I just try to appreciate a guy at the top of his craft.

Can I just point out that everyone always goes on about whinging and moaning, but have any of you actually considered why he does this?

I do this too. Not because I am actually moaning or even care if anyone is listening to me but because by verbalising it I am not dwelling on it. That means I can focus my performance better.

All the drivers complain and moan, its just the coverage focuses more on Ham so we hear him doing it the most. I remember Vettel during his peak, it was the same  These drivers are competitive monsters, they will moan and curse at anything they believe is getting in their way on the track. Off the track, most of the drivers seem pretty chill

Really silly for F1 to limit the embedding of this.

Perez crashes on the way to line up for the race.... Meant to be really poor visibility following other cars so the start could be interesting!

Game over for Perez

"Right front suspension damage is too extreme..."

Checo will not start the race ❌

As the race still hasn't started, they can fix his car and start in our lane now.

That shouldn't be allowed, the race has started because everyone else did a lap behind the safety car and that one lap has been deducted from the total.

Not go it on so not sure whats happened. But guess he must be a lap down? Or I can see a few appeals at the end of this.

Lots of confusion right now but that has to be the outcome.
