Good race today.

Glad I watched this one!

Hamilton was never going to catch and pass on that last lap, but I still really don't agree with cars one lap ahead getting drs from the car they are about to lap.

Ferrari strataegist should be betting against their own team like it happens in Serie A
This should be like 20th or 30th race they ruined it for their drivers

Bunch of amateurs....Infact arm chair fans will make more sensible calls than those idiots at Ferrari....

Its very boring how they routinely let their drivers down.

Mercedes pit crew cost Lewis. Even with pitting a lap too late, Lewis might have won. 3.8s pit stop is 2 seconds too slow.

I can't remember the last season that they were good at pit stops.

Not sure where they will be after today, but i think they were 7th in the pit crew race going into today. They were behind Aston, Alpine and Alpha Tauri (and Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren) by a significant margin. I actually think they are doing better this year than last year. But yeah, they have been crap for a couple seasons and just like the cars everyone is chasing the bulls who are just flat out consistently noticeably better than everyone else.

Why did they only check four cars?

Lewis disqualified along with Leclerc for excessive worn rear skid blocks.

that is disappointing, I thought it was a really good race. I think this should be appealed.

the only good news is that it gives Logan Sargeant his first point.

It’s a random check. Every driver in field goes through those 2 to 3 races in a year

heard its just "bad luck"

we do need more details thou, like how many cars they check, but if its a 100% fail for all the "sample" sizes, then they should look further into it.

Bottas said they rode the car higher to avoid this. not sure if he was also one of those who got the inspection.

Given the credibility and prize money at stake they should check all cars at the end of every race. It can’t be because of manpower and costs. I suppose the teams would against it as it would delay their escape from the track.

Assume the DQ's for Lewis/Le Clerc don't get implemented in the Sprint results, just the main race?

Yeah just the main race, I would guess they did separate checks for sprint, or maybe not long enough for them to be worn down as much with lighter fuel loads and just less laps also.

I just hope this wasn't a one off where Mercedes and McLaren had some race pace and can stay closer to red bull in the next races also. Will make it a bit better for viewing again.

Cars could not be changed after FP1 last week due to Sprint weekend - no FP2, straight into quali.

So, it was a cumulative effect - quali, sprint quali, Sprint, and race on a bumpy track that caused too much wear.

That Q3 was good, grid should mixup up more with penalties.
