Premier League rules mean that Bissouma will miss the Fulham clash as punishment for the red card here and will revert back to four yellow cards on his tally. With the double-yellow becoming a red it means that when he does return, likely against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on October 27, he will once more but just one booking away from missing another match.

There are no "good" games for him to miss, but Fulham at home and Wolves away would probably be my pick. So if he avoids a booking against Palace and picks one up against Chelsea I won't be too bothered.

Silly boy putting himself in this position though.

When is Bentancur due back? Wouldn't be as badly missed if we have him back also.

I’m not defending him but there seem to be a lot of yellow cards this season mainly due to time wasting and dissent being cracked down upon.
I’d noticed quite a few players on 4 already so a lot of teams will suffer suspensions.

However he needs to learn form this otherwise he’ll be getting a 2 game ban for 10 yellows by Xmas.

If he gets the ban to coincide with the African cup of nations will that still count?

I would imagine that potental loophole would have been closed. But, the threat of a ban for reaching 5 yellow only extends until our 19th league game of the season. After which, a player will then get a 2 match ban once they hit a total of 9 cards for the season.

And our 19th game is likely to be before the ACN starts I think.
