Ledley King's professional playing career was sadly impacted by constant injury issues. Had the Englishman been able to stay fit for prolonged periods of time, he would likely have gone down as one of the Premier League's greatest ever centre-backs.

Without a doubt. I showed my 9 year old son that a few years ago when he first got into football and wanted to be a striker now all he wants to do is be a defender

"But had it not been for King's superhuman-like tackle on Arjen Robben, the final result would have been very different.

The rapid Dutchman beat Spurs' offside trap while the scores were level at 0-0 and he looked certain to score."

Didn't they score from the corner?

Even in Glory, there are echoes of failure…

This for me is what the team lacks at the moment, determination. If our players showed that much determination, bearing in mind that king was chronic injury issues at that point, what could they achieve? The effort will make such a big difference even if the skill level isn't as high. No need to foul, fight to get back.

I remember another when he started behind Michael Owen in full flight caught up with him, tackled him cleanly and Michael hobbled off injured. He was unreal.
