/* This is just a quick rant. */
I looked at the Independent's "Premier League" news page. 36 articles on football, 1 of which is West Ham news, and 2 on Leicester players. The rest, another 33, are all Arsenal, United, City or Chelsea.

What utter bollocks! That was a first and last time I go there.

No real suprise considering their fan bases (and Utd, Chelsea & City all having new managers looking to bring in new signings).

Our business is better behind closed doors where Chelsea can't swoop in late on with a few extra million £'s wages and I can't see many papers selling by leading with news about who Everton, Palace or Southampton are looking to sign

Some of the other papers have been ranking each club badge or kit from 'best' to 'worst'. It's a new low for page filler.

This is generally the state of the media today unfortunately, forced to feed the masses.
They're all after your clicks, even the more reputable ones, and they get those by writing any old shite about the clubs you've mentioned.

Working for a news station, I can confirm that. In an ideal world good journalism would produce most clicks, but it doesn't. Clickbait and filler is what keeps 99% of news sites going, even the reputable ones.

Call this a thread? Turned out it was just a quick rant. Can't believe I clicked on it. I'm off to list it near the top of my 'biggest regretted opened threads' thread.
