He’s just physically not strong enough. Dembele in the nou camp was the perfect example. Will also get out muscled on set pieces. He can’t beat a man offensively and now doesn’t even try. If he wasn’t an academy product he’d be getting absolutely slated. Nowhere near good enough.
Dembele is an absolute perfect mix of strength and speed and will embarrass many a player, so I don’t think that shows up Kyle too much.

Of course there are question marks over his defending, but as for beating a man offensively, he’s a good dribbler and can do it. It’s all a question of confidence. At the moment he’s still playing it safe because he doesn’t want to lose possession. It’s the tricky thing being a young player trying to establish a place in the side, particularly a defender. Do you play it safe and try not to make mistakes? Or do you take risks to show your talent?

Anyone who thinks Walker-Peters doesn’t have the ability hasn’t watched him enough. He’s just so fucking good technically. It’s simply a question of him having that moment where he realises he belongs at this level, and him growing towards stamping his authority on games and playing with belief. Personally, I’m seeing him getting closer to that as pre-season goes on.

Any player over Trippier in that position is an upgrade for me, be it Foyth, KWP or Aurier. The only thing i ask is that Poch selects one of them as his number 1 RB and gives him a run of games. Only then will we see if they are good enough for the position.

Winner. His technique is way above any full back we’ve had in recent years. I still worry about his physicality but hopefully that will come with confidence and the right training.

I wonder how many of the ‘super’ fans here have watched KWP’s under 21 outings.
Personally I think he will struggle to defend in the EPL.
Pochettino is though not totally reliant on him which I think is important and the bar is also set low atm having struggled in that area last season as a team.
Foyth though does not look an option.

You change your mind about players so often I struggle to keep up

We rejected two bids for him this summer, one from Palace and one from some German team, Poch clearly rates him - if not just for his mentality and attitude his ability as well.

Like the boy
Think he has the technical ability to succeed
and the right attacking instincts.
Needs cover when defending
as any adventurous full back does these days..
Needs confidence now
which regular playing will bring.

That's what counts.

He has the talent just needs to physically mature and develop some of Rose’s nastiness so opposition don’t try it on with him.

Palace mate has messaged me asking if they're getting KWP on loan.
Picked up from the Palace sites

Would be a good move for him if we are bringing somebody in. Can think of far worse places than Palace for him to learn his trade, plus their imminent relegation will keep him grounded.

It feels like he needs a year at a club like Palace. Not sure that Kyle Walker and Danny Rose would have become the players they are without those loan moves to Villa and Sunderland, respectively.

I'm not too confident we've the time to bring in a replacement now though, especially if Aurier is also leaving.

If we get a decent offer we should sell. Good enough on the ball, but bad positioning and horrendous physically. I think he is slower than Davies, if that is even possible.
