You can make young players think more about positioning, decision making etc. YOU CANT TEACH SOMEONE HOW TO KICK A FUCKING FOOTBALL IF THEY STILL CAN'T AFTER 15 YEARS OF PLAYING THE GAME!!!.

I thought i was the only one who thought that!

If he really couldn;t kick a football he wouldn't be playing at the highest level, have 9 england caps and have every commentator/pundit saying we need to get him more of the ball.

he makes things happen, your obsession with crossing is a joke, lest you forget how many goals we've scored this season.

Of the goals we've scored this season, 24 have been by Keano and Berba, Berba has 10 assists so thats 34, and Keano has 6 so thats 40. So forty of our goals this season are directly down to our front two. The reason why Berbatov drops deep is because there is no service from midfield, hence the amount of assists, because he is our most talented player. If we had a winger who could cross, Berba would not have to drop so deep. This would allow for him to get on the end of more crosses himself and would give the team far better balance. So really... your fucked.

IMO this isn't accurate, because they have 24 goals and 16 assists between them it doesn't mean that they are directly responsible for 40 of our goals.

if we look at our 2-2 draw away to Liverpool Keane has 2 goals both assisted by Berba, in your analagy that's 2+2=4 but we only scored twice, there are plenty of other goals like this, therefore the argument doesn't stack up.

Keeping the focus on the same game Berba has 2 assists which have nothing to do with him dropping deep, so his number of assists aren't really relevant to him having to drop deep because we have a winger who can't cross.

The stats are, in addition, insufficiently detailed. As has been pointed out, most if not all of Young's assists have come from set pieces. Bentley, I think, also takes a lot of set pieces. As for shots, most of Lennon's are on target, and his conversion rate from those is 1 in 3; that wouldn't be bad for a striker, and it's pretty good for a player who allegedly can't kick.

Sorry, I just don't buy this 'He won't improve' bollocks, mainly because it is bollocks.

Go back 2 seasons. Jermaine Pennant had arguably the best stats around, and now look at him.

This isn't to say I don't rate Lennon, I really do. But stats don't really tell the whole story.

Bentley has also played large chunks of this season in a free role and not as a winger staaying out wide.

2 seasons ago Pennant only made 4 assists in the league playing for a relegated Birmingham.

This season he has only 2 assists in 14 games this season.

Not sure what your point about Pennant was but, he was never really that good.

Didn't Pennant score a hat-trick on his full Arsenal debut? There's a stat for you. :)

You are right with your first point, I was just trying to emphaise the point but inaccurately I accept. But in the games where Berba gets assists, it doesn't mean he goes wide, because he doesn't. He plays through the middle because he isn't a winger. But what happens is we have a different focus, where we look for Berba dropping deep to make a chance, rather than Lennon out wide. Its all about team balance really.

he is our only outlet since both of our strikers lack pace. Today has shown......We are much better with lennon than without him. In the long run..he might not be good enough.....but he is still good enough to make an impact/be in our squad. He is only 20 and can possibly improve....how old are jenas, zokora and malbranque? i can't see them improving. I would consider selling them before selling lennon.

Today has just backed up my point. Its not a myth. Its a fact. Shite again

12 passes, 58% on target. I won't call any Spurs player shite, but that isn't anywhere near good enough. Against the Spammers he was around 90%. No excuses, not even having having his mind on the jellies at his birthday bash.

Stats don't tell the whole story, but in this case they tell a fair bit of it. No wonder Ramos took him off.

Has Lennon really improved over the last few seasons ?
Nope, not really. It's too bad that we haven't had some experienced players that he could have learned from.

The one thing he has to improve on is clearly final passes.......he still might come good. We'll see during the summer how impressed Ramos is with him.

It was clear what Ramos wanted to do against PSV, stifle them, & then go for it second half, which we did and won the game.
