To be fair, and it sticks in my throat to say this, but he did just use his own money to bail us out of the drain. Without him it's very, very likely Tottenham Hotspur would've ceased trading that year.

Wat? I don't even know why you... Where did you get that figure? And do you not think that their trading has been anything short of magnificent - buying players cheaply, developing them and selling them for many, many millions more, when they want to leave anyway? i'm sure i've said this already, in this very thread, in fact...

ah, clearly you've not read back up the thread - we've not had significantly more managerial changes than any of the clubs that are actually winning everything right now, we're doing about average on managers. Personally, i'd have preferred we stuck with a few of them, so there is one thing we can sort of agree on, i suppose... trying to find positives here.

Again, you've lost me - have you been drinking? I have. That might be it.

That nice old lady with the leather handbag where her face should've been was having a 'mare, and our star striker fetched an insane amount of money. We also welcomed Modric to the club that window, so swings & roundabouts really.

Wasn't meant to have been taken seriously!

No they failed but it's the thought that counts

Managers and Players get booed every week in the Premier League.

I'm sure Levy can handle two placards. He certainly doesn't need anyone to fight his corner.

Those guys have a right to protest and it's small minded people who would try to bully them into adopting their point of view.

Do you think it would do our players performance any good to see that? No, the only thing it would be is detrimental. So they should shut the fuck up until after the match or when our season is effectively done.

Yet we are the 14th richest club in Europe according to Deloitte, a reputable source. an everpresent in the top 20. Apart from the current top 4 and Man Utd no-one else comes near us.

This, in a post arguing that we should be challenging for honours, is properly funny :ROFLMAO:

You say Everton were only able to catch liverpool because of lack of investment under Hicks and Gillette. Woolwich havent invested in there squad for years due to investment in the emirshites, have won fuck all for nigh on a decade, and STILL we cant top them, even for one tiny season.

Didn't Arsenal spend £42 Million on Mesut Ozil this summer?

To compare the period of 1925 to 1951 to measure our relative success if downright ludicrous. This period was interupted by WW2 for 6 years. There was no league cup or european competition of any sort. Pre war, clubs like Huddersfield and Blackpool dominated. To any reasoned football obsrever the post 2000 Enic period has been the most unsuccesful in the history of Spurs. Or, if you must, the post war history of spurs.

You're right, the 1990-2000 decade was a glorious one for Spurs...

Not to mention arsenals wages.

90's we didn't have oil to contend with either.

Everyone has to remember the position we were in when ENIC took over! That's got nothing to do with Alan Sugar's stupid decisions! Absolutely nothing to do with hiring managers like Christian Gross or buying players like Jason Dozzell.

ENIC have invested £4M in the transfer kitty in the last 5 years! £4M! How much have you invested?!!!
Wages have increased by 23 mil per annum since then.

67 mill per annum in 2009/10
90 mil per annum 2013/14

Placards about the Owners didn't stop Man Utd winning the title did it.

Get Teflon Dan out of our club. Or at least make him feel uncomfortable. About time people started to wake up.

hmm... our club or his?

don't you know the rules of playground footy, if it's your ball (club) you make the rules. You don't like it, don't play (pay)

Does he make 'amazing points'? Or is he just a fat idiot?

I'm going for the second option.

Utd had arguably the greatest manager of all time in charge. He would never allow a bit of fan unrest to affect the team.

Levys ego is big enough that he would sack Tim to keep the fans happy.
Therefore LEVY OUT

Where has there been evidence that he has a big ego. A big ego is Harry, is Mike Ashley & Mourinho. DL doesn't show their craving for media affirmation. He is probably very confident, being young & successful. He probably has a goal in mind for Spurs, ENIC, his bank balance & our trophy cabinet. Now the details and importance of each goal are known only to DL but he's not the swagger sort

Yes - net spend I'd what I was on about

net spend means we've bought wisely, smarter and sold well when had too. So your arguement is that DL is a much smarter chairman than Stoke's. Cool. I like that and expected such too.
