I think this post is naive. Chelsea and Arsenal will attract top-drawer players regardless. at the same time, regardless of whether we're in the CL or not, we don't attract top-drawer players. this is just fact.I get where you are coming from but that is a really naive statement in the modern era. If we don't have CL football then the likes of Eriksen, Kane, Vertonghen, Dele will be much more likely to move on, as would Poch - who won't be short of offers. Arsenal and Chelsea (assuming the finish 5th) will find it a lot more difficult to attract top drawer players (it will be easier for us to do so) with the knock on effect of making next season 'easier' for us. Top 4 is essential for our 'project'. What is also important is that Levy finds the funds to upgrade our squad form top 3/4 to top 1/2. This means spending big on players Poch wants early in the window. Easier said than done.
Why was this rated as spam out of curiosity?Even the great Fergie didn't win anything in the first 4 years at UTD, and only then it was an FA cup before he went on a rampage and dominated the footballing world. Relax everyone we are in a good place.
Don't forget Home and Away before Neighbours, god I can't believe I am doing this!I grew up on the fresh prince. Next you'll be slating Malcolm in the middle, the simpsons and neighbours.
I only watched the last one because it killed time before the others came on...
I get your point but when can we stop comparing to the 90s? We are a very different club.
Wait. We’re back on this gives youth a chance thing? Thought we killed that a while ago?It depends on your age and career to date as a player and type of player you are.
Pep is the big draw because he wins and plays amazing football.
It would be interesting and fun to play for Klopp especially if you like hard work and fast football
Conte is very tactical and defensive so he may have more of a select appeal
Jose is more pragmatic but proven winner and it would be interesting playing for him
Poch has us playing attractive football, gives youth a chance and improves us year on year so also an attractive option to be part of a project, the main thing is which players are we going to keep and which ones will we bring in to really kick on.

All games whatever our position should be treated as must win. They might have lesser consequences if we don't but the mentality has to be to do everything possible to win every game. If we go into this last two games thinking a draw and a win is enough, then it will be an awful lot harder IMO.Come on in the position we are in all the games are must win, you don't wait to the last minute for it to be a must win, it just invites more pressure which is something we really don't need. Technically your right of course.
So we are over achieving but you want more now?
The over achieving is debatable. The fact we haven’t spent fortunes doesn’t mean we arent capable of competing and winning something. We have a host of players that would get in Liverpool United chelsea squads. And all those 3 are in major finals.imo we have 12-14 players that would get easily get in their squads. Spending is only an argument in regards to city. This squad is more than capable of winning a domestic cup and has been for 3 years. Imagine we were West Ham 3 years ago Poch took over signed kane Eriksen dele Son Dier dembele alderweireld vertonghen sanchez spent £700m. People would actually be expecting us to challenge for title.
I seriously misjudged the demographicWhen the world finally admits The Fresh Prince of Bel Air was a shit program
This again...
It's not debatable at all, we are over-achieving based on resources and spend. It's not our fault that other clubs mis-manage themselves. If other clubs actually spent their money properly in order to assure that they achieve based on their wealth then they'd be finishing up where they are meant to finish every season and we'd be finishing around 6th, you can't penalise us for other clubs fucking up.
The management at Spurs have coached those players to get the maximum out of them whilst players at other clubs are under-achieving, they have built this team up with limited resources compared to our rivals and have have to fend of other clubs who pay more, that should be commended more than looked down upon.
What's more...it takes a squad of players to win the league not your first eleven so if Kane, Eriksen and Vertonghen are getting in teams like City and Utd's first team, then Llorente, Sissoko or Winks isn't getting anywhere near their squads.
Id agree the club is over achieving, but whether Pochettino is debatable. They are different things. By luck or judgment we’ve done incredibly well to assemble the squad we have. How much of a part did Poch take in actually assembling current squad again is debatable.
It's not about comparing, it's about giving a benchmark for what mediocrity is. Mid table for a decade is mediocrity. Finishing 3rd is excellent.I get your point but when can we stop comparing to the 90s? We are a very different club.
