Why would poch ever go there? ZZ won an unprecedented 3 consecutive champions leagues, la Liga, a Spanish cup, 2 super ups and the world club cup twice in 3 years and still ends up being forced out/leaving. Hardly a project for a man like poch to take on.

Anything but winning every cup/league every year gets you sacked

Don't think he's being forced out at all. Think he's going out on top realizing he can't live up to those same expectations every year.

Still doubt anything comes of this and it is a lot of speculation but blah blah...

(No idea why he threades these two tweets together. Second one is the important bit)

Why would Poch go there? Win some stuff, get fired/leave as they're not interested in projects or legacies. I'm not sure RM fits Poch's apparent mindset.

Can only imagine this has put a wrench in any transfer talks Levy has been having. Having to answer to every player/agent is Poch going to Madrid.

Levy: "Hi Gareth, it's Daniel. Just wanted to be the 1st to give you the heads up that Mauricio is going to Madrid..."

Bale: "Oh really! That sounds great. I'll finally get to play under a progressive coach who will appreciate my talents. I'll tell that sucking the life out of football twat, Mourinho that I'll be staying put in Madrid than."

Levy: "well whilst I agree that Mourinho's style of football is about as attractive as a Piers Morgan lapdance, I wouldn't be too hasty in staying in Madrid either."

Bale: "Why is that Mr Levy?"

Levy: "Well it's just something Mauricio mentioned to me.........

Oh look I really shouldn't speak out of turn.........

Don't worry about it Gareth."

Bale: "No really, what is it?"

Levy: "well I don't like to tell tales, but if you insist........

It's just Poch mentioned that he hates the Welsh and thinks they all smell..........he may have also said something about your bicycle kick being the kind of fancy showboating shite that he doesn't want symbolising his new look Madrid team.........infact he said you remind him of a knackered old horse fit for the scrapheap."

Bale: "Really?!"

Levy: "I'm afraid so, yes........

And that wasn't even the worst of it......"

Bale: "what? How could it get any worse?!"

Levy; "Well he assured me that as soon as he joins he will be making a 100million pound bid to take Moussa Sissoko with him to replace you..."

Bale: "Oh my God!........look Mr Levy........I know I fluttered my eyes at United........but this news has shattered me........I miss home..."

Levy: "would you like to come back for a hug from uncle Daniel?"

Bale: " yes please. Whatever it takes to make me smile again......."

Levy: "Well I'll have to see what I can do Gareth........ Things are tight with the new stadium..."

Bale: "Give me parity with the top earner and that's all I'll ask Mr Levy"

Levy: "ok, let me talk to uncle Joe and I'll get back to you...."

Call ends........

levy: "Poch! It worked, just keep up the pretence until he signs.......Donna, can you fax the contract straight over before he twigs!"

People are forgetting that Poch signed a new deal with the knowledge that Zidane would be sacked if he didn’t with the CL final.

Wasn't there a story about him being offered to us when Gerry Francis was manager?

Yeah, around '95 we had the chance to buy ZZ plus Christophe Dugarry from Bordeaux for £1.5M. Francis said "no".

Also had a chance to sign Stefan Effenburg the previous year.

Marca, AS, and COPE are all running with basically the same story. Expect that the Spanish media will be doing everything they can to unsettle Poch until Madrid have a new manager.

Please don't tell me you don't think Poch isn't at least tempted at the idea of taking over at Madrid...

I'm sure every manager on the planet would be tempted.
I don't think he would be first choice for madrid though.

Poch is on holiday at the moment so finding out who is right is probably going to take a bit. I personally would see Eriksen, Lloris, or Kane signing new extensions as proof Poch has given his word to them he is not leaving and I do not see him as one to neg on his word to so many. So I hope those come out in due course.

I am unclear why this thread is bustling with so much chatter. We know Zidane's job was at risk before the CL final. We know the CL final was played on May 26th. We also know Poch had three years on his contract and extended it to 2023 on the 24th.

If you had three years on your contract already, you are not worried about losing your job. He could have dragged things out a few more days to see how the CL final went if he was honestly considering a move to RM. The only reason to commit to 2023 with Spurs before the final was to affirm that he had no interest in leaving.

The journos just want to sell papers and clicks, this is all nonsense. I'm just as comfortable as the next person getting obsessed with silly season, but Poch to RM this summer has no basis in reality.
