I've been resisting any meltdowns because the window hasn't closed, but I must admit to a slight crumb of worry worming its way into my thoughts. The issue for me is momentum and whether, if we don't make the right signings, we can build on the progress of the last three seasons.

By the way, can someone explain what BSoDL means...?
"Bastard Son of Daniel Levy" i think

I miss the Cain Hoy takeover rumors. Levy OUT.

Bring me all the negs but if you bsodls still stand by levy after this calamitous window, your nuts. This is such a fucking shit show. Levy outright refuses to spend. Best opportunity we’ll ever have with the best manager we can possibly have and as per standard, ENIC let’s the pitch go by. ENIC has taken us as far as they can. They cant get over their penny pinching ways and get out of their own way for a change. Time for Levy to fuck off and Lewis to enjoy his retirement with his umpteen yachts, and his mansions in florida and the bahamas. Sell the club, tavistock:mad:
Agreed. Lets face it people, Levy is finished. If he's not willing to take us to the next level, which is evident, then bye bye. You can talk about a new stadium and new contracts but that only gets us so far. We now need to spent the fucking money on quality players. He just sees the club as a money making business for his personal satisfaction and not an actual club that wants to win trophies. That's not the mentality of who I want running the club to have. It has to be balanced and sometimes he has to gamble.

Even if we do somehow pull off Zaha or Martial late on, thats just papering over the cracks. He clearly has no real intention of getting either of them otherwise the deal would have been done already (in particular Zaha). Won't be surprised if Poch walks next year if we don't get one of them in.

As far as I can remember, we voted yes for shutting the transfer window early. Since we voted yes, that means we thought we had sufficient time to make deals. How can we blame people when we were one of the teams to support this?

I think we have struggled more with the early closing because we are not able to move on players as we wish to and it is likely foreign clubs won’t come in for them until after our deadline has passed. With Janssen for example - why would they move now when Poch has made clear he isn’t part of his plans? That will be a bargain deal for someone

I don’t think Poch is gone next summer even if Levy continues to screw up this window. Reason being: Levy can blame this on the early closure of the window, and that will satisfy Poch enough (especially since none of the primo jobs will be available anyway) to stick through next window to make up for it.

Levy can’t blame this on the early closure of the window he was was one of the ones who voted for it to close early!!

9 days left.

We’ve done fuck all.

We’ve sold no one, we’ve signed no one. Fuck all.

A few first teamers and the reserves are in America, while the rest of the squad recovers from the World Cup. By the time they’ve recovered, the season will be starting, so they’ll have no pre season.

Anyone we sign at this late stage will have no pre-season with us.

And yet, we’ve done fuck all. But some people on here *still* don’t see why many of us are just a little bit concerned.

Levy literally has 9 days left to salvage not only our upcoming season, but also to safeguard the relationship with Pochettino.

Given his form in these matters, I have little to no faith in the penny pinching slapheaded dwarf twat, and I fully expect Poch to be off.

You said exactly what I wanted to say. Especially the bolded part.

Poch has repeatedly said how he dislikes the window closing after the beginning of the season... If Levy had voted against it Poch would have not been happy... I mean you could argue that Levy could have done business earlier to keep Poch happy too, but that was never going to happen, he focuses too heavily on getting the best value he can, which unfortunately means as fans we see rumours and ITK come and go without us actually doing them. By no means the ITKs fault, must be really hard keeping up with (or keeping such a slow pace with) Levy as he tries to turn the screws on things the fans would love to see at the club. I'm somewhat on the fence, end of the day I'm happy I don't see us ever doing a Leeds or similar, but I'm an ambitious guy... I've been spoilt by the joys Poch has brought us and I find it so hard that we won't just push on.

For those that want Levy gone, likelihood is (based on business sense), once the stadium is done and the club seems stable top 4 they'll sell. So maybe people will get what they want soon enough.

Even if he didn't, he knew what the arrangement was like every other chairman . Still, I know we have to withhold judgment until the window closes.
i don't think we have to. imo this window is a disaster no matter who we, if we will, sign before the window closes, as they will need half or a whole season to adapt.

I think that the Leeds analogy is a bit overused anyway. It seems like every time someone suggests that maybe it would actually be more advantageous if Levy didn't hold out for every last pound, in order that a player can be brought in early and bedded in during preseason, the Leeds argument is raised like anyone is suggesting that Levy turns into Peter Risdale Mk2, which is a fairly extreme example anyway. It's a ludicrous argument IMO.

Every year the majority of us see this coming. We get shouted down and made to feel stupid because we don't understand business and things are so much more complicated than our puny minds can imagine.

At the end of it all we're supposed to swallow the excuse that we ran out of time and we were in an impossible situation that only applies to THFC.

The idea of there being value at the end of the transfer window makes no sense given the early closure. The only possible value would be buying from the prem but noone wants to sell to us.

Well yes, there is certainly weight in that argument.
