MoPo is sounding less happy these days in his interviews. The players don't seem either as organised or as prepared to run through brick walls for him as they used to. He's starting to complain about their inability to close games out. I don't think Levy will back him in January, as there is a rift between them and forcing MoPo to walk will be preferable in Levy's eyes than paying up his contract.

And as we're playing the "guess his replacement" game..... Eddie Howe for me.
Lucien Favre, Leonardo Jardim, Julian Nagelsmann and Eddie Howe are the managers we should most definitely look at. Managers who coach players and puts trust in young/academy players while still playing with an offensive style of football.

Obviously I still doesn´t want to lose Poch.

I'm praying either Enic invest in Jan. Or we become a new pet for a rich owner, falling at the last hurdle is becoming boring in my old age.

Nagelsmann would've been my choice but he's already agreed a pre-contract with RB Leipzig for next summer.

Eddie Howe would be the cheapest option which is likely the one that Levy would opt for. Irrespective he'd be high on my list anyway.

Jardim did a good job with Monaco but they really lost their way after a number of players were sold and not sure he'd be a good fit anyway.

Don't know about Favre.

The madrid rumours will kick into over drive again this weekend.

Lopetgui is gone if/when they lose the classico.

A lot of OTT nonsense being rolled out by a number of people in this thread it seems and I really don't put much credence behind anything that is reported in The Sun. With that said and for the sake of good debate, it's probably worth discussing the possibility of Poch going to Madrid and what we would do in terms of replacement.

We know they came after him last summer and opted for Lopetegui after Poch pied them. Highly likely JL is about to get the boot but the reality is that if they want Poch it's going to cost them. I still don't believe he will go as I just think he's got too much integrity to go back on a lot of what he's said in recent months. I wouldn't overly blame him if he did go and at the moment I'm a little torn. On the one hand I want him to stay because I love the guy and what he's done for the club. On the other hand, things don't feel the same to me and I'm still trying to work out if it's temporary or not. He doesn't seem as happy as he used to be but I can't help but want to see what would happen once we get into the stadium.

Overall, if Poch wants to stay then I want to see the season out as I feel like things will improve in the new year. If things don't change then maybe Poch has taken us as far as he can and both parties need a change.

I like Eddie Howe a lot but I can't help but feel like we need to be aiming for a bigger name at this stage. People are banging on about lack of funds because of last summer but we all know it's not that simple. I believe the money is there for transfers and if anything, from next summer onward would be the best time to join as a new manager.

£20m to £35m would definitely be enough to secure Poch if he wants to leave and that's well within Real Madrid's budget.

Who knows how it will play out, but if Poch genuinely wants to go there to fulfil a career ambition, or simply see what it's like to manage a 'mega-club', then I don't see any reason for it not to happen.

Agreed, still a lot to pay for a manager though isn't it. I guess if any club would do it then it's going to be Madrid.

I don't think any self-respecting fan would take issue with him leaving for RM. He's been quoted recently saying how hard this season has been and that's it been harder than he could have imagined. Strong words and it's clearly showing in his demeanour. Injuries and lack of signings haven't helped but all of it could be enough for him to walk.

Undoubtedly a good coach and a high ceiling but his ability to attract the better players is one gap for me.

Although you could argue that he's never been in a position to attract 'the better players', due to the size of club that he's managed at.

To be honest, I don't really know a lot about Eddie Howe except for the fact that he's held in high regard by many. Sounds like he could be an interesting choice.

just don't see Poch to Utd now....our squad is better and Utd are utterly souless....and have been churning through players and managers

Really think PSG post Neymar is the one to worry about
I doubt he rates that league

Howe ticks many boxes if you think about. Wouldn't be upset at all if he were the replacement for Poch.

Anyone above that sort of billing just won't happen.

Better prepare for him to be off in the Summer the way things are being permanently reported.

I don't know where the facts are behind the statement that there is a rift between Levy and Pochettino. I doubt that is the case, but the recent THST meeting seems to have produced slightly differing attitudes between the two of them, even if Poch wasn't at the meeting. They were not both on message.

Are you talking about what is being stated here or in the media? I would much prefer the present manager of Dortmund, but it won't happen.

I think it is a little of both.

Ally gold seems to suggest, among other outlets, has reported that Poch is [enter suggestion here] mood/attitdue etc etc Throw in what has been typed since about mid July on here by people from all over the world, it becomes gospel, doesn't it? Far easier to parrot what people type, then you can't be wrong, right?

Perhaps, we're reading too much into stuff, because we are afraid of leaving him. The dispassionate view is that we are starting to click into gear. Poch is frustrated at the lack of breaks: the stadium build is a metaphor for what's been happening, in that we are just about there, except for unexpected issues. Another way of looking at it is that it has been built very quickly for a project that big and that what is happening shouldn't be a surprise as a result. Journalists, including people close to Pochettino like Balague, report on immediate feelings on the whole.
