Still don’t think it comes across as especially professional.

I think it's much ado about nothing to be honest. It's almost like he's stringing them along and letting them write their own narrative (hes called them out for twisting his words in the past.).

Watching the press conferences it all seems very balanced from him. Like he's just stating facts (chapter closed, new plan needed, etc...) Doesn't seem disappointed or frustrated like say Mourinho last year.

Maybe it's the transparency thing, maybe it's deflecting away from the players. My guess is it's more a reminder than an ultimatum to Levy. I'm sure there's a reason behind it. Journos might be confused as they are used to the straight talking of Klopp and Jose but Poch has always been a bit different and it confuses them. The last thing I think Pochettino is is reckless or unprofessional TBH.

There’s a lot of posts in this thread about taking risks like Liverpool and making expensive signings. I think the one thing with Liverpool signing expensive players is it becomes less of a risk. Why? Because they have one of the best coaches in the world. This is also true of poch. Klopp, Poch and Guardiola are IMO the best at improving players in this league if not the world.

I think if poch is backed he will make a success of whoever he chooses.

There are constant claims that money was available for poch to spend but he refused. Surely this can only be because the money sanctioned is only to buy players like GKN or Jansen who haven’t worked out. I think poch has taken the approach that if he can not get the players he wants, he won’t buy.

Sounds to me like it could be a big summer. I’ve just read the interview poch did with some European paper a few days back where he claims that there were a few players in the summer that wanted to leave. That’s concerning but I’m sure we all know who they are. My only other worry is that poch is talking about sitting with levy after the champions league final but surely talks about funds and signings have already taken place if we are going to move for early for some of our targets?

I think they’re more surprised about why he would air this in public.

I get where Poch is coming from. But I certainly don’t know why this isn’t kept private with Poch, Levy etc.

He wants to put pressure on levy and the board to match his ambition. Obviously feels he needs to.

Pretty sure it was Daniels initial vision that got Poch here, why build the new stadium etc etc for it to stop here? Levy is not that stupid.
It’s not stupidity that comes in here. It is Levy’s own performance related to his employers expectations. Unfortunately/realistically his employers want more than winning. They want to make money. However, the obvious out of the way, it has to be done by being successful as a whole and this cannot be done by losing matches, thereby losing support and all the other stuff like sponsorship and rewards.
So we should all hope to see that now, with financial and results success and a new stadium that has to be paid for, Levy’s own targets are to push on from here.
We need to buy. We need to sell. We need continuity. We need more success, thereby more financial gain.
Lol so I suppose that if we don’t buy, then we don’t have the continuity and we don’t have the chance to better ourselves in every way. So it WOULD be stupidity if we are not to improve our team.

Of course that’s where a good manager, who works well with Levy, comes into play. Any team can buy expensive but it has to be a successful purchase.
Let’s watch and wait. Let’s hope we spend some big money on a couple of players and buy clever for the rest.

Hopefully this will all blow over in the next week. We don’t really want the media to be given a chance to disrupt our preparations before the final because you know they will. Poch’s words add flames to the fire.

I think it's nonsense to think this is aimed at Levy. He's simply telling the fans that he and Levy need to sit down and talk about the next stage of the project. Do people really think Levy hears that and thinks "that's news to me?". Poch is simply letting the fans know what's going to happen in the summer. That is all! nothing more to read into it.

Huge summer for us a club coming up, I pray Poch is still with us come the 1st game of next season but I have a horrible feeling he won’t be and I hope I’m wrong !!

Pochs a very emotional bloke and if he was seriously thinking about leaving then I think he would have shown a lot more emotion during his lap around the pitch today.

Call me paranoid and I’m sure it’s because of June 1st but he didn’t look too emotional or bothered in the lap round the pitch after the game today!!
Knowing Poch he was probably just pissed off with our lacklustre display and not sealing 3rd in the league. The angriest I've ever seen him was after the 5-1 against Newcastle in a 'meaningless last game' a few years back.

Quite. If I recall he said he wanted to ‘kill’ his players after that Newcastle performance!

Thats just as concerning. I know there has been a fair bit on everyones plates particularly with the focus on the stadium and CL but I would have thought these things would have been discussed already. If you chat about it in June and they decide to part ways, then we already start off at a disadvantage.

If Poch and Levy agree a way forward then we are still at a disadvantage in getting players in etc.

Stuff like this takes time and discussions not just one meeting for an hour or two.

Either way - my view is something like a forward plan or strategy should be discussed on an ongoing basis and not just wait till June where whatever happens we could be at a disadvantage.

Well as Poch has said his project for five years is now complete. It seems like that the next step is to compete for the title or other trophies. He will need to add on a couple of top class players to do so. Cough up ENIC/LEVy, or Poch will most probably move on.

I’d be very disappointed if we didn’t already know our top 3 or 4 targets and were already in advanced negotiations with their agents and clubs.
