Hoping with the overhaul in player recruitment this year, we see some benefit from this in the summer. We just don't have the squad depth to compete on many fronts. Hopefully Poch and Levy have seen this.

I see. So, one sub-par performance with a second string squad (who barely played together) decides it. While at it, let's just forget what he did entire season previously.

No different than you writing off Wanyama last night as 'slowing our attacking play down' after he has been one of our best performers for most of the season.

FYI i'm not writing Dier off but I don't think moving him to midfield will make any difference to our attacking play.

Our offensive build up has been atrociously slow whole season. The only saving grace has been the wing backs providing the width when back 3 was played. Not writing off Wanyama at all. Defensively a beast, but offensively slow. We have to mix it up.

I think he needs time with quality next to him. E.g the goal for Wycombes 3rd he knows what around him and instructs the other defender to mark the guy which he doesn't....

He may well make it yet but I just don't think Poch gets his late teens out on loan like he should. Onomah needs a Championship loan, too, he's not ready to add much value yet.

CB s are all about partnerships and it can't be easy just being thrown together for the odd game.

I'd buy another CB this summer, someone with prem experience to add to Dier Toby and Jan.

Along with Gray of Leicester and proper competition for Kane. Plenty of powerful strikers out there for the price we paid for VJ.

Agreed! I like the look of gray at Leicester - he has the kind of skill set we are sorely lacking. I would also potentially replace Davies with a more attacking full-back for both competition and back up to our Danny. I would get in another striker and a creative attacking midfielder. I would have a look at the costa kid at wolves; granted I've only seen him a few times but he looks a real prospect.

His squad depth is better than the ones Jol and AVB had, so I don't accept that.

Higher expectations tho, no? Jol and AVB were trying to get top 4. People seem to be expecting Poch to go for the title, for which we don't have the squad depth. No one suggested that of the other two

Yup plus the league is more competitive now as well compared to when they were managing.

The board aren't expecting him to go for the title though and that is what really counts. Nevermind the title, we have a real fight on our hands to get a CL place.

I've been seeing this written since the AVB days and truth is; it's a movement problem from the front 3 or 4.

Fine then to aim for top 4 like they were, not to win the league like poch is trying to. We've moved on since then. We need much better quality in depth now.

There is nothing wrong with him aiming to win the league and failing, we should be doing our best to do as well as we can in every competition. The expectation level as only gone up because of last year, something I warned about at the time, but anyone who has supporting spurs for some time, shouldn't be falling for that really.

If they don't, that will explain why we're not adding serious strength in depth. They're trying to do the minimum needed as we build the stadium. I agree we have a fight, and would have preferred more investment, but we're well placed and it would be a real cock up with our run in to not make it, in my opinion. We have a favourable finish

Got to say, the Lamela situation needs sorting ASAP, becoming a bit of a joke. Brand new player right there when we get him back he's now been out so long, with seemingly no diagnosis

Spending 50 million on seemingly two duds is enough of a reason not to add serious depth and quite honestly I would not blame Levy at all if he told Poch we have to sell before we buy.

That's assuming Poch wanted those players. I still believe that Poch never wanted Sissoko and Janssen. It is fairly clear in my view they weren't his players or signings.

The only two he has publicly criticised have been those two players... Unless I'm mistaken.

Sissoko was a last minute buy and don't think Poch is a last minute kinda guy

As for Janssen, he doesn't fit the type of play that Poch tries to implement.

We were told by ITK that poch got the players he wanted. Maybe not first choice but certainly his picks. Can someone name a manager that hasn't bought a few duds along the way?
