Why? There is a very good possibility that he could take it.
Because I don’t see Poch uprooting from Spurs to move to Man United. It honestly doesn’t concern me in the least.

Maybe Southampton fans didn't see him moving either. Or his clubs before that.Because I don’t see Poch uprooting from Spurs to move to Man United. It honestly doesn’t concern me in the least.
It’s naive to think he wouldn’t consider it. He’s spoken about his admiration for Ferguson before.I’m not at all concerned about that whether they come for him or not.

I hope he stays but unless you know him personally, you never know.
One thing is Man U can offer him a much larger salary and transfer budget. Those 2 factors alone would be hard to knock back.
Let's hope you are right. But would they give him the time he wants to build a team/legacy. I think Poch wants to be known for building a program and taking it to the top. Southampton sold his players out from under him. If Levy can commit the money to keep the players, I don't think Poch wants to leave. He is about a "Project" which is not complete. I think he is enjoying starting to take down the big boys slowly but surely.

Generally I’m not worried about him leaving before we move into the stadium, but he’s definitely changed his tune this season in how he’s talking about the future. Last year, it was all, “I’d be happy to be here for 10 years.” This season it’s all, “in football you never know the future”.

Ok fair points. Then they shouldn't have forced out Cortese and pulled the rug out from under Poch by selling so many of their best players and not even bothering to replace them. There's really no valid correlation between the reasons for his leaving Southampton and his current situation at Spurs.
Of course we can't know for certain whether he would leave or not, but you could say that about literally every manager and player in the world. There's no use in speculating on all of that, in my opinion. There should be hard facts to back up that speculation - not just the hand-wringing of pessimistic fans.
As for transfer budget at Man United, there's nothing to indicate that that's how Poch works (i.e. he wants massive transfer budgets to bring in big stars). In fact, there's evidence to the contrary.
Yes indeed. It's pointless having this conversation right now.
It's not realistic if you actually read what Poch and Kane have said recently. Clearly both want to stay long term.Ok fair points.
Worst case scenario, we lose Kane and Alderweireld in the next window (due to circumstances beyond our control), could you not see Poch doing the same as he did at Southhampton.
I hope Poch stays, i hope Kane stays, i hope Toby stays.
However, we spurs fans know what can happen to best players (and then possibly managers).
In my view that is not "pessimistic" as you say, but realistic.
It is not the thread for it at this point, but we all know what players and managers say. It's not realistic if you actually read what Poch and Kane have said recently. Clearly both want to stay long term.
Very different circumstance. There are a lot of clubs that are bigger than Soton. There are only a handful of clubs in the world that are bigger than Spurs.Maybe Southampton fans didn't see him moving either.
Still 4 clubs that are likely.Very different circumstance. There are a lot of clubs that are bigger than Soton. There are only a handful of clubs in the world that are bigger than Spurs.
If I were looking at teams where Poch might be tempted, I would discount all German and Italian clubs - he has no ties there.
That leaves the Spanish giants, Barcelona and Madrid. Maybe Atletico, but realistically that is a sideways move, since they will always be chasing the money behind Barcelona and Madrid. Barcelona would probably be ideal for Poch, except for the fact that Espanyol hate Barça, so that leaves Madrid as the most likely Spansih side. And, even then, Madrid is a short-term job, and I don't think Poch is ready for that lifestyle, nor are his coaches.
PSG is a viable option for Poch, ties to the team, well funded, and could see them give him the time to build a legacy.
Of the English teams, Arsenal are out, Liverpool unlikely, as a sideways move. That leaves Chelsea, and the two Manchester clubs. If I had to rank them, it would be: Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea.
Overall:
Manchester United
Manchester City
PSG
Chelsea
Real Madrid
Liverpool
Atletico
Still 4 clubs that are likely.
Best we move this to the "Poch" thread.
Any help moving these posts @mods?
Thank you for moving it.Done.
My tuppence worth on it...
Poch wouldn't have left Southampton if they hadn't shafted Cortese the way they did. As long he and Daniel are on the same page we're good, no matter who comes in for him.
Done.
