There's a great article for Samuel haters today.... I won't post the link as, despite mentioning it, I don't want to generate too many hits on it! It's quite funny.

Ha, nah mate. It's funny. Mind you, you're right, shouldn't give them hits

There's also a great piece on sky sports about Liverpool being title contenders now that they've beaten the mighty Sunderland

I actually feel a little sorry for most of them as due to the decline in newspaper sales, and the enormous increase in internet viewers, they're almost forced to conjure up stories in order to try to help sell the product they work for. Must be a tough job constantly fighting against the odds.

Personally, I think that recently football fans have shown that the opposite of this is true and that what we actually value and treasure as consumers of information is detailed, accurate, reasonable analysis of the game.

Best example is Gary Neville's redefining of the TV pundit but there is tons of evidence online that what we really want is insight and an informed, measured opinion - not mindless speculation, silly witch-hunts, bandwagon jumping and shit cliches.

That is why two bob ****s like Samuel are and should be shitting it - because they have proven themselves time and again to be lazy, poor journalists.

Talking of Samuel, He's published this cheeky piece his morning. This is the headline (I find the "but" bit funny)

I’m not trying to sell Spurs' best player and I don't want him to leave - but Man United may feel they have a chance with Harry Kane that they haven’t got with Neymar

This headline would have been Jamie Vardy had he been 8 years younger..

In moderation. For every Neville, Sky has five Mersons. He was still an outlier. The sensationalist, uninformed crap still does way more traffic, the one decent guy gave them the illusion of decency. Craig frickin Bellamy won't do that for them, which makes me think they don't really realise what they had

"Because he might consider a five-point gap at a specific moment in time less of an indication of what will unfold over the next decade as the fact that Manchester United have won the title 15 times since Tottenham last did it. I’m not saying that would matter to Kane, necessarily, but using your logic, an ambitious player should join Leicester, not Tottenham; and Watford, not Liverpool."

The guy's a dick but can't fault him on this bit

The worst bit about tabloid footballs journos tho is the way they clearly stir up controversy then do their "not me, ref!" follow up article/routine after

The "media bias" meme doesn't really hold up with all the "Tottenham could win the title" articles I've been reading this week.

Mate I dont think you value Spurs that much. Are you really a supporter? We are one of the big clubs. We may not be Manchester Utd but we are one of the 15 richest clubs in the world with a tiny 36K stadium and no Champs league for nearly all of the PL's time in being. But there is amazing potential there. Think of what we will turnover in a few years time with a new Stadium. We also have an amazing history. Great cups, titles and players, As good as any other club.

You keep harping on about Manure like you want Kane to go there. Yes I am sure he is ambitious but there is nothing to indicate he will leave right now. So stop going on as if you have a hard on for Manure. Its bloody annoying.

I see the media are up to dirty tricks again, now saying we stand a good chance of winning the title, most people will probably think they are just being complimentary but we know deep down it's then trying to put pressure on us so we bottle it.

Same with them talking about Kane to United and even worse Poch to United, with them hoping the latter would cause disruptionlike when they were linking Redknapp to the England job.

What the media fail to realise is though, this team isn't a team of legends like spurs teams of the past, we have a strong hard working group of players who fight for each other, the best defensive record in the league (speaks volumes) and the best goal difference in the league (normally a huge indicator of the strongest and most consistent team) and our manager isn't interested in that job.

Poch said only the other day he wouldn't even consider joining Madrid as he loves it here and is building something special here and for the future.

If he isn't going to join Madrid why would he join United? United are nothing compared to Madrid let's face it.

Kane would not join United he has already said as much and right now it would be considered a backwards step regardless of United's "brand" also Harry is a spurs fan and has reiterated time and time again how much he loves spurs and wants to see his career out here, barring us turning into a mid-table side like Liverpool I can't see him going anywhere.

That you read what I say in that way is really quite bizarre. I am generally a very positive, celebratory fan who is very much enjoying this season and is very positive about our future. Who knew thinking Man Utd were much bigger than Spurs was such a controversial opinion? I think the plot has officially been lost.

I don't keep on harping on about anything, I'm just interacting with posts on the site - something I've done for a lot longer than you, in relative peace, may I add, so can you please wind it in.

I remember the mid to late 80's when we were the ones getting the very best players ahead of Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal. We lost our way under Sugar and his terrible management appointments. Whilst Man U and Arsenal prospered under great leadership through Ferguson / Gill and Wenger / Dein..

I gave up after 3 lines. Not because of the content but because it's comfortably one of the worst formatted things I've ever seen. I've seen irate forum posters, that write essays, that are easier to read than that wall of text

So do I. Alas we'd done our money before Sugar turned up.

I always find it slightly ironic that Sugar banging out satellite dishes for Murdoch gave rise to Sky though.

Media = Shit ****s

Martin Samuel in particular has had Man United signing Kane, Alli and Pochettino this week alone
These people don't care. When their stories don't pan out, they just move onto the next one without a second thought.

Couldn't help but laugh at this gem on the BBC preview of their game with Sunderland........

"Liverpool are inconsistent but there's enough evidence to suggest Jurgen Klopp is not far off. Had the draw with West Brom and the defeat to Watford been wins instead, Liverpool would have started this week on the same points as Tottenham."

WTF???? By the same token, if Sunderland had won a lot more of their games then they too could be on the same amount of points as us.
if they'd won as many games as Lawro predicted they'd be champions by now.
