The capacity and frequency of the trains going to WHL station will be massively increased under TFL, with a re-designed platform/entrance allowing easier access for trains full of fans. Plus the idea is that with the HRW redevelopment there will be more fans hanging around after the game rather than leaving asap (tho clearly that will apply less to evening games).

Maybe I'm being naive but my understanding is that this had all been worked out in respect of the previous planning application? Plus the transfer of the line to London Overgound wasn't announced until after the previous permission was given so that should be able to accomodate the extra 10% of fans under the new proposals?

I guess we'll have to wait and see. Have to remember the amount of people going there will be massively increased too. And I'm not too sold on loads of people hanging around Tottenham after a game, regardless of amenities. Certainly not been my experience at the Olympic Stadium or the O2, where they've spent shitloads on places to keep you entertained which turn into ghost towns pretty quickly. People tend to get there earlier and hang around beforehand, not after.

But you're right, the Overground will make a big difference. I moved south not long ago and the Overground is great, the trains are big and well designed. That's actually the best announcement for me. Some of the other stuff sounds a bit like making the best of a bad bunch. "Better use will be made of stations" and "facilities will be improved" is as vague as it gets.

It looks as though the stadium is all but signed and delivered. Our Match day income will go through the roof (no pun intended), the TV deal will bring in a fair wedge too.

The only thing letting us down now, is the commercial side. Man Utd for instance have an official noodle partner. Ive lost count of how many sponsorship deals they have, but its around 100. The training ground, the training kit, everything you can think of can be sold to the highest bidder.

I hope this NFL tie up allows us to get some much needed deals in.

How do you mean through the roof? More than the other 5 richer clubs than us in the premier league.

I have no worries about the commercial side because I know that is what Levy is good at, he is very creative in the way he does business.

The numbers don't tell that story. Commercial growth has been quite poor.

I've never said you don't praise Levy when he deserves it - it's your elaborate interpretation of events based on no evidence whatsoever, and your complete and utter denial of facts because they don't suit your point, which I have never been able to stand.

Well that's a matter for debate and my last comment was just a playful jab rather than any bitch slap just in case you or anyone else took it the wrong way.

As another poster stated, decent commercial deals come with success. I'm sure if Levy could have milked and extra £5 from somewhere over the years he would have.

And regarding transport, I don't think it'll be enough, but with Northumberland park getting and extra 2 trains an hour, and once TFL get sorted with their newly acquired train line. People should start to notice a difference.

And a tube line to Northumberland park will never happen. Regardless of all the digging etc, it'd undo all the signalling upgrades TFL have spent a fortune on over the last 5 years. Regardless of scheduling conflicts. Crossrail 2 is our only hope sadly.
