TOTTENHAM'S WONDER YEARS
Martin, After Spurs' victory in the 2008 Carling Cup final, they have now won major trophies in each of the last six decades: the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and now 00s. How many other clubs can match this remarkable consistency? Nick Samuels

MARTIN SAYS: I've got to be honest Nick, I expected a few more questions in from jubilant Tottenham fans after ending the nine-year weight for silverware, so I will happily answer this! As you say it is a remarkable record of consistency to have won major trophies in the last six decades, but Spurs are not alone in that feat in England.
I'm sure you won't be entirely surprised to find out that Manchester United have matched that and indeed gone one better having won something in the 1940's. United won the FA Cup in 1948, the League title three times (52, 56, 57) in the 1950's and in the 1960's won the FA Cup (63) and two more League titles (64, 67). The 1970's were somewhat of a barren decade at Old Trafford with the 1977 FA Cup their solitary piece of silverware and the 1980's only bought two successes in the same competition (83, 85). Of course under Sir Alex Ferguson they took off in the 1990's and won no fewer than 12 trophies, including the treble in 1999, and in the 2000's, they have already won the Premier League four times, a League Cup and an FA Cup. But Nick, Tottenham are still better off than Arsenal (who won nothing in the 1960's), Liverpool (nothing in the 1950's) and Aston Villa (nothing in the 2000's so far). I assume bettering Arsenal will only add to Sunday's joy!

That is quality being at wembley that day was probably the best day of my life. That video made my hair stand on end and i nearly welled up all over again especially when the kid and his old man are going mental on 2.50 then again when robbie and berbs are hugging and when we lift the cup. Would love to re live that day!!
