I'm probably in the minority but I feel like they should stop pulling Ali out for stuff like this. Let the poor guy rest.

sir steve redgrave lights it...definitely the right choice

Unless you're Daley Thompson. Did you see his article in the mail, suggesting he was the 9th best and that was because Daley was feeling nice?...even went on to say he was always carried by his colleagues.

A bit worrying when the people who built the stadium have still got their hard hats on!

Loved the start of the ceremony, particularly the agricultural revolution and the uprooting of rural communities as the era of industrialisation took hold. Very impressive

The musical/cultural piece was AWESOME, though i'd have liked to see more of the 80's

Rest of it was just meh. Mr Bean on a global scale? Ouch. NHS? Pffffttt

So excited to watch the opening ceremony!

Oh wait...you're telling me it happened six hours ago and NBC is showing it on FUCKING TAPE DELAY AGAIN like its 1988?

Massive fuck up there by Sir Paul and his band. The only cock up of the night really, and by the person who's been in showbiz the longest!

So a bunch of nobodies lighting the flame basically

It's like they didn't want to offend any one of the great Olympians so bottled it! Chances are these kids will do nothing in the coming years. Ah well, all in all a good ceremony. Now to the real business

The cauldron is effing immense.
