It can be argued that the top six more or less speak for themselves but I wondered what people thought of the other 14 that make up the league.

Which team or teams do you see to be the wildcard, the one that will be under the radar and could upset the apple cart and sneak into the top six?

The cavalier al a holloway's blackpool who surprise the league for three months charge about causing mayhem and winning games they should not until they like simply red fade away back to the championship.

the doom mongers - the ones that take points of the beloved spurs without asking and may scupper top four a la wigan 1 from 6 and Norwich 2 from 4

which team that is or maintains to be a 'big club' but finish in bottom six

the out of their depthers - the next derby - probably palace already.

our January poacher signing - which player do you see we could poach in January from one of the 14

and which of the 14 do you think will be the most eyecatching to watch.

and who will join the cavalier and the out of depthers in the bottom three.

a bit of fun looking at the other 14 teams that we will have to beat to be top 2

The top 6 you speak of being who? Us, Chelsea, Man utd, Man City, Arse and then who? Everton? Everton are a better team than Liverpool these days, especially with Suarez suspended/injured/throwing a hissy-fit and also with Gerrard on the decline

Would be amazed if Villa finished top half. Agree with all the others mind... Fancy Norwich to be a surprise package this year and maybe Newcastle will get their act together too

the 6th being Liverpool. I see everton struggling this season

for me I can see Fulham being the wildcard

I think Liverpool are going the way of Newcastle- always going to have huge, passionate support, but they are treading water in terms of being a competitive outfit IMO. Dalglish spent a ridiculous amount of money on players who are average at best- Downing, Henderson, Carroll etc and with Gerrard on his way out and Suarez pretty much on strike (and suspended anyway!), it will take them a long time to recover. Everton, on the other hand have some very good players- as well as Baines, Fellaini, Jagielka there's also the likes of Mirallas and and Coleman who are massively under-rated by many. Their problem is up-front where they don't really have a 20-goal a season man. A cheeky bid for Defoe wouldn't be the worst idea in the world for Martinez... Swansea are a decent outfit too and they have made some excellent signings in past 2 yrs- i can see Liverpool finishing below Everton and Swansea this year

Agree- I can't believe the bookies have them (liverpool) at shorter odds than us for top 4

Norwich and Southampton have both made some promising signings- will be very interesting to see how they get on

Yeah Kings is right- the odds are merely a reflection of the deluded Scouse masses pumping all their benefit money on them (sorry for the crude stereotype but it had to be said!) I share KR's frustration on this matter though- it does feel as though we're not being 'recognised' or given credit by the bookies for the progress we've made and the idea Liverpool have more chance of top 4 than us is almost insulting! Out of their entire squad, only Gerrard, Coutinho and Suarez would get in our team. Agger is very good but no better than Kaboul/Jan and theres not much between Johnson/Walker tbf. Shows how far we've come (and how they've declined!) as 5/6 yrs ago only 3/4 of our players would've got in their strongest 11.

I think Swansea and Southampton will do well. If Villa get off to a good start, I think they'll excel. I think they'll do well at the expense of Newcastle and Everton who have the playing staff to be top half.

Wonder if Liverpool will challenge? Sturridge and Coutinho looked like great signings. Their window has been poor and with their Suarez trouble, they may suffer. Hope we can ride the Bale storm and come out guns blazing.

Off topic here but why do supporters get themselves wound up, when the press or pundits don't give us the odds we think we deserve? The same goes for pre-game predictions that do not go in our favour e.g. Mark Lawrenson. Come on!, it really does not matter as it DOES NOT INFLUENCE RESULTS! I love us being the under dog anyway so when we win I can stick two fingers at them! Rant over (for now:))

Jol has made some tidy signings at Fulham - think they could cause a few surprises this season. Otherwise agree with Southampton and Swansea making an impact

If the top 6 includes Liverpool, then 7-10 will be Everton, Swansea, Southampton, WBA I think.
