This thread lately has been like watching two people arguing, but one only speak Swahili and the other only speaks Esperanto!
You do know Swahili is all whistles and clicks (in the wind) and Esperanto is designed to be easily understood by everyone, right?

This thread could do with being closed.
Not that long ago it seemed like the world and all it's little pixies wanted Levy out. Then people jumped the other way and at some point they'll hopscotch their way bak to wanting rid again. This thread, as frustrating as it can be at times, is an essential venue for the Levy hokey-cokey.

A good run under a new manager bounce at the start of a season changes nothing for me. Sold our best ever striker (stats wise anyway Jimmy) for the dough after failing to build a team around him for a decade leaving us, yep you guessed it, scrapping for Top 4 as per usual. Sooner he’s gone the better.

To be fair, the thread was brought up again by someone looking to mock those who don't like Levy.
Agree, the posts since have been mostly pretty shit from “both sides.”

I think there’s a lot of valid criticisms of how Levy has run the footballing side over the last 2 decades. He has also run the business side well and I think it’s ignorant of people to dismiss our increased spending over the years.

At the moment we appear to have a good transfer setup, that Levy has largely stepped back from, and we seem to have a head coach who is working well with them.

But at the same time we know our history of shooting ourselves in the foot when things are looking good.

Now isn’t the time for criticising Levy or getting ahead of ourselves and being confident he won’t fuck it up.

It was a weird time to bump the thread.

I don't like him, trust him or want him but looking around I'm not sure there is anyone I'd prefer especially.

If he sold it would be for a ridiculous amount and likely only a state backed entity or an investment fund would pay it , neither would make me happy.

Some clubs have ambitious owners, I think the Kroenkes for example have been excellent in the past few years but on the whole football is now for the super wealthy and super greedy.

I don't feel part of a community like I used to, the magic has been all but replaced by corporate gentrification and if it was just a levy thing I'd be angry but it seems to be a football one in general even if levy does feel like one of the worst examples.

I think it's fair to acknowledge what Levy has done but also be critical of the mistakes he has made. I think that is why this thread is up and down. Things are not bad and we are in a good place. But we still haven't won anything and things could be better. It's just crucial if we change owner that it moves us forward and not back. Otherwise we'll regret not being a consistent top 6 club anymore. The grass isn't always greener on the other side but it can be.

How unbelievably arrogant is that take? It's like your opinion is the correct one and no one else's can differ. This thread more than any on here does my head in, it brings out the worst of fans. It's like fecking Brexit
unbelievably arrogant? On the arrogance scale it’s about a 3/10 mate.

Id say asking for the thread to be closed is at least a 7 by the way.

The business is still largely a football business and the chaos he’s caused particularly post Poch on the football side has seriously impacted on the bottom line, and thereby the Club’s overall financial health.

Great businessman is therefore unjustified. As is his remuneration package. In my opinion.

you know youre entitled to yours.

I've been anti Levy for quite a while and still am in football terms but IF he leaves that to those he has employed for the task and just gives them a reasonable kitty in which they must perform then I'd be happy.
Levy just needs to state the amount they have to spend on players and if they need more then they have to sell some.
He must be applauded for his work regards building a club that's capable of competing NOW he needs to let them.

Dear Levy. Please get rid of them blokes waving around flags on the roof. It's cringey

Get rid of that trumpet too. It's cringey.

No cringey American Bullshite.

He really needs to sit down with Ange in the summer.

I cannot work out if we are sitting on a team that can push the very best, or a team that's future will be mediocre.

This season has gone from sesational to absolute mediocrity in four months. Levy should be asking about our set piece coach to Ange and whether he's going to back him financially.
