1 more point and our goal difference should be enough to make second our own.
12 more and we could still be in with a shout of a bus parade.

Win our game on Friday there is only 1 point in it, after Chelsea's celebrations today I would fucking LOVE IT if they had a meltdown after seeing us one point behind them.

I didn't realise we played before them, I thought after the Everton game it was done and dusted because they played before us all the way until the end of the season.

I think us being 1 point behind them will make them nervous, we won't quit, we won't falter, we won't die, we are coming.
Exactly!

Of course on paper they have easier fixtures but of course, the real intangible is the mentality on the day and could easily have one of those games where the keeper has a blinder and/or the opposition skanks a completely undeserved win or point.

All we can do is win our remaining games - that was apparent before today and even more prevalent now.

West Ham can't come soon enough and let's give something for Chelsea to stew over and see what happens.

Clutching at straws, but the Everton game was meant to be their toughest game remaining. There is a possibility they become complacent in the "easier" games.

Failing that, can they have some bad luck?! Bad ref, red card, pen, injuries, anything lol!

But, it's been an amazing season. Our chances of winning the league is minuscule, but there is a chance!

Boro is do or die.. they may just add some unexpected twist to this race..

Hope Negredo finds some fire in his belly for that match.. But not that I am hopeful they can.....

What I liked about today's performance was a focus on the job in hand; the one we had in front of us. We just keep on doing that. I think we learned from last year where we let the pressure get to us and lose our focus on the game. Chelsea have to do the same in every game they play. There may be a few surprises yet, but I like how we're set for the run in whatever happens with them.

Can't see Chelsea dropping any more points tbh. Anything is possible but we don't get those sort of breaks whilst they're the luckiest team I've ever seen. Speaking of luck, there must be something in the air at their training ground that they never get any injuries. Kante fit the whole season again. Back three seem to always be fit. Hazard has missed about 2 games and Costa has been fit the whole time. Even Alonso and Moses have missed hardly any games. Compare that to us...

It's worth at least 4 points.

Every season a team gets relegated and then once the pressure is off they pick up an unexpected win. Hopefully Sunderland can do that this season.

Could you see city drawing against boro today?

Anything can happen - injuries, sending offs etc. In the position we're in it's not over at all.

I loathe that expression

Spursy today means winning 9 games on the trot.

I know i say it more in jest. I use it more as a descriptive term for the universe working again us.

Having 72 points and not making top 4 under AVB when it was enough for 90% of previous seasons.

Being the only club ever to finish top 4 but get "relegated" from the CL due to another sides performances.

Finishing 2nd with 89 points would just be another example.

This is true.

I find myself down on our chances to, but we have to believe and play like it's still a chance. If the fans don't even believe, how can we expect the players to?

We have to at least put our self in a position to pounce if Chelsea slip up at all.

feeling pretty empty, beating Palace the day before my birthday gave me a really good day.

always feel like shit when we play the scum, have done for 44years, but god i feel really shit now. this game could get very messy now, especially if the scum do some winding up in the tunnel, like I believe the Chelscum did last season.

COYS beat that lot

feeling a lot better, but still gutted, going to need a couple of freak results where Chelsea are concerned.

hopefully all the doubters, worriers have calmed down now, for us to finish 2nd with our GD we only need 1pt. Liverpool & Man C need to win every game to finish on 78pts, Man U would need to turn 23 goal difference around, and considering their injury problems and scoring more than a goal let alone 2 goals per game, it just isn't going to happen, especially with our defensive record.

I do, too, and have never, ever used it.

But...just think...we could finish the season on 89 points, with a record equaling winning run in the league, a goal difference that could potentially be plus 50, having scored the most goals in the league and having conceded the least goals with the best defence in the league...and still not win the fecking league. I'm not sure how else you could describe that but Spursy. Unless it includes the word cursed :(
