The problem is you can't rely or trust any team to do us a favour, no one seems bothered about stopping Chelsea, like West Ham with us last year and probably again on Friday.

Have to agree after watching that pathetic Inept display from Everton yesterday
On the beach even with something to play for :poop:

We have conceded 22 goals and lost 3 games and yet probably still won't win the league, don't know how much more we can do any other season and we are champions.

Nope, plenty of seasons where teams got 89+ points and a better record than we'll have this season. In 11-12 we could have got to 89 points with a slightly better goal difference than we have at the moment and finished 3rd.

But this team is better

really praying for a miracle now.........even if they drop points against west brom who are already on holiday can't see them dropping any points in the other games.

BUT....weird things can happen. Man U drawing 4-4 at home against Everton, Palace pulling back a 3 goal deficit against Liverpool.

we just need to keep on winning, finish the season strongly and go again next year (preferably from August this time not October/November).

very proud of this team - after years of crap, regardless of what happens now, pure joy from our boys COYS!!!

My only hope is that at least Middlesbrough aren't relegated yet and might be buoyed from a good performance against City. Hopefully Hull and Swansea lose too and they are really up for it.

That's literally the only PL season where 89 or more points hasn't won the league.

Maybe I've misinterpreted your post...

I'm clinging to the fact pulis loves to spoil a party and would have no shame in parking the bus!
and as bad as they are every 1 in 10 games Watford pull something out the bag like the day they went to arsenal and were unbelievable! It's clutching at straws stuff but I refuse to let go of the dream just yet!!

We can still win the title, that's not just opinion it is simply the truth which means that it's all to play for. Last time chelsea celebrated like they'd won the title they then went and lost to Palace, down to one point by next Saturday too.

I'm saying that 89 points wouldn't have been enough in e.g. 04-05 off the top of my head even if we had got it.

I am sure someone on here posted that Conte and Mazzari don't see eye to eye, so perhaps that could work in our favour aswell. Yep, clutching at straws, but you never know..

It's differcult to see areas in team we could improve on next season, Team looks so well drilled, rock solid in defence, All on long contracts, looks as if Toby will sign

What the actual naff, how can Liverpool be shorter odds than us to win the league next year. Hilarious.

The fact we are now in May and still in with a chance is amazing. I agree that Chelsea thinking it's done is only a good thing for us.
The fact that we have 2nd now (assuming we get the 1 point needed) means we can play without any restriction and be very attacking.

Depth and/or the performance of backup players. The likes of Wimmer, Jansenn, Sissoko and N'Koudou have on the whole been woefully below the standard required when they've come in for injured players.

Oh yeah, ok. Only once before has the team that came second had 89 or more points (United in 11/12) but Champions have, on the odd occasion, had more than 89.

Their odds are always shorter than they should be because bookies base odds on the number of placed bets and too many Scousers are stupid enough to bet on Liverpool every season no matter what.
