The real reason why Tottenham didn't appoint Roberto De Zerbi

Spurs apparently felt his ‘own distinctive style of possession football’ would make him a ‘very exciting appointment’, but Levy and co then decided against it.

That is because of his ‘combustibility’, which they noticed first-hand during his altercation with Cristian Stellini at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in April.

what complete and utter rubbish.

''yeah he might be the best manager we could get and we would play incredible exciting football that will win the fans back and push us right up the league but he once got a little bit arsey with poor Cristian on the touchline so we'd better cross him off our list''

Pure garbage which is becoming all to frequent these days with more sources of amusement than reliability, bit like our season.

Basically just rehashing the Athletic article minus most of the context.

Worst type of "journalism".

I personaly did think the game with us was an audition of sorts that he failed at the time. Of course I think it's absolute silly but you could see from the perspective of the "suits" that it did not go well.

I don't know - Levy is pretty well known for being a stickler for decorum - I could see this being an issue with Levy.

Maybe he didn’t want to leave Brighton?
Some of the rubbish written by the press

Wouldn't be surprised if he goes to City in due course.

Levy should be more concerned about fans combusting, NOT managers.
