He's back! The SC Rumour Forum favourite Vincenzo Iaquinta, first linked in the January 2006 window, and dubbed 'Dave' by SC's ever because of his unpronouncable name. IMScounting says he's back on our radar!

Tottenham Hotspur are said to have put a deal on the table to lure Juventus FC Torino striker Vincenzo Iaquinta to White Hart Lane.
According to Italian sources, Spurs have offered the player a contract until 2013 with an option for another season. The size of the offer is unclear.

Iaquinta is contracted to Juventus until 2013 and is valued at €10M-15M by the club.

Tottenham have reportedly been after him for some time, and will be hoping to get the fee down in negotiations for the 31-year-old.

Iaquinta is a tall, strong striker who possesses a powerful shot and is great in the air. The World Cup winner doesn’t miss many chances and has scored six goals in all competitions this season. He has a Serie A efficiency ratio of a goal or assist every 136.8 minutes.

He has also scored six goals in 40 appearances for Italy.

I hope we don't buy him. Windows just wouldn't be the same.

whilst I love the myth that Dave has become, surely at 31 we wouldn't be paying that kind of money?

I want Dave to come just so as we finally get him here after all these years.

Obviously not to play him as he's shit. We could just have him as a mascot, get rid of Chirpy and replace him with Dave.

How good would that be :)

10m - 15m euros (can't find the euros key) isn't that much really, in todays market. It's only about £7m - £12.5m which, if he produces the goods and doesn't expect mega-wages, sounds like a fair price.

I saw similar/larger figures quoted for Forlan and Fabiano and they're about the same age. I suppose it depends whether Harry plays his "Get me this player and I'll get you the CL again" card with Levy.

Iaqunita was good 3-4 seasons ago .. now he's a has been.

Forlan's in his prime and is worth £15 million. Fabiano on the other hand has been pants/not played much since our proposed move fell through.

Besides, why sell our ageing strikeforce and replace them with someone even older?

We need a targetman - Llorente and a finisher/someone with pace - Falcao/Tevez (dreams).

About time this link resurfaced! We'll be linked with him even when he's dead.

With him, Van Bommel and Sergeant Wilson all we'd need would be Captain Mannering and Private Godfrey(I could imagine Jordan doing the Private Frazier "we're all doomed "bit).

Surely 'Dave' has become the most linked to spurs transfer in the history of the game. It is at least 5 seasons in a row
