The Son-Lamela Issue

Frankly, Eriksen should be taking penalties anyway. Neither Son nor Lamela should have been stepping up for it. They had a little discussion, but that was it. No argument, no fight. Son gave up his protest and walked away, so who cares.

Eriksen missed his last penalty which was for Denmark.

Even if Lamela made it, I still think Eriksen should always have been the one taking it. I was shocked when he wasn't the one stepping up.

I still don't understand why all players don't just go for the top corners with power. How often have you seen a goalie save a penalty in the top corners at full pelt? In fact, goalies usually dive low to either side and never high.
I think its also a mental illusion. Players see the goalie standing up and maybe think - I cant go top corner cos he'll just reach over and so they always go low to the sides but from a goalie's perspective I think they're only thinking - will he go lower left or lower right.
