Henry was incredible, but was maybe lacking in one or two areas, Ronaldo had a spell where he was unplayable, buit for me Drogba is slightly more "Complete" as a striker. Ronaldo can't play the striker role like Drogba can.

I meant the fat Ronaldo in his prime.

Romario wasn't "complete" but was better than the likes of Drogba, Torres, Batistuta and other "complete strikers".

Romario, van Basten and Ronaldo (at Barca) were on another level to all other strikers in the last 30 or so years.

Going by stats you have to put Henry in the elite band for the past 30 years. But IMO he wasn't as good as Ronaldo or Van Basten = all time hero y0.

Robbie Keane is the greatest striker in the world :snooty:

Na, seriously I think Torres is the best striker certainly in the premiership, if not the world. Drogba is brute strength whereas Torres is silky and glides with the ball. There is a case for both (and other strikers) being the best but purely because I love watching him play Torres does it for me.

Unfortunately I can never see England producing a player like Torres.

Out of Drogba and Torres it's Drogba for me. You have to swallow the histrionics but you get a player who'll score a similar amount of goals as Torres but is always far more involved in play and who will create more chances for those around him.

I'm with BC, but neither of them were as good as Rory Allen.

Klinsmann was sooooo good.

Van Basten was better, possibly the best I've seen.

RVN in his prime was very good.

Torres and Drogba are probably the best at the minute. Remember in Drogba's first season at Chelsea? A lot of people said he was shit, alright he has improved since then, especially his first touch and finishing but I could see then that he was always so big and so strong and so mighty there was nothing that he could not do.

Er a bit like that song about God.

Higuain is disgracefully underrated-when Drogba is finished he should be top of Chelsea's wish list-the guy has got everything

Drogba needed two seasons to score 24 league goals (12 goals in each of his first seasons), Torres needed one. Drogba started to play as a world class striker when he was 28, Torres is now 25. Drogba playes in a better team, with a better midfield behind him. How many goals would Torres score at Chelsea, with Lampard, Essien, Deco, Ballack, Malouda behind him?

Henry was great dont think he can be considered a complete striker, not good enough in the air imo.

In the premier league I would agree with those saying Drogba, followed probably by Dimitar.

Drogba has been involved in or scored in 19 of 30 Chelsea goals this season. This time last year i think there would have been a lot of mention for Sammy Eto'o who bagged 108 league goals in 145 games for Barca, but he has gone off the boil for his standards at Inter so far this season

Nope, nowhere near as dangerous as Torres. Berbatov drifts in and out of games, and Torres is way more prolific in a not so great Liverpool side.

Drogba, well, if he'd cut out the diving crap could go down as one of the all time great strikers - he's had a goal or an assist in every game he's played in the league this year.

I'd have Rooney ahead of Berbatov. Torres>Drogba>Rooney>Van Persie>Berbatov imo.

Torres doesn't have everything it takes to be classed the "complete" striker. If Drogba had been playing last night, Liverpool would not be in the situation they are in.

To be fair to Torres, he wasn't fit enough last night. Rafa only started him because he was desperate. Torres is more skillful and a better finisher than Drogba. I prefer Torres myself. Plus he doesn't roll around as much as Drogba, which doesn't help when you're up against time. Although Torres does go down too easily at times unfortunately. But he's more pleasing on the eye, thats for sure.
