Liverpool's Luis Suárez 'chomping at the bit' to return after bite ban

The Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says Luis Suárez is "chomping at the bit" to return – an unfortunate turn of phrase given that the striker has just served a 10-match ban for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic.
Suárez has not played since April last season after being suspended for the incident with the Chelsea defender but he is now available for Wednesday's Capital One Cup tie against Manchester United.
"It has been a really difficult time for him not playing games," said Rodgers, who confirmed a decision would be made in the next 24 hours whether the 26-year-old would start at Old Trafford. How he has prepared himself over the last number of weeks has been fantastic.
"He's really chomping at the bit to help the team. Everyone knows the depth of his quality and his attitude. Once he gets back on the field again he will show what he has shown since he's been here."
Asked whether Suárez had learned his lesson Rodgers, suppressing a chuckle, said "We will see, we will see." He at least resisted any temptation to add that the striker was hungry to be back on the pitch.

Who are Liverpool playing? Their opponents should all wear head and neck protectors.

Wow. He's so smooth and suave. An enigma really. A man of mystery.

What a guy!

"That doesn't even make any sense, Brendan."

BR: "You just leave that to me."

"What?"

BR: "Wibble!"

I have a strong feeling that this thread will be used many times over the course of this season...
How's this to get the variety rolling ...

"We're on 10 points already and at the end of last season we finished on 61 points and we talked about those extra 10 points that might have taken us into the Champions League - at this early stage we've got them."

Someone ring the FA and tell them they've already qualified for the Champions League please.

Come on, people, we do the same thing all the time, comparing points gained against similar results last season and/or points accumulated at a similar stage of last season. How is it daft when Rodgers does it and reasonable when we do it?

Didn't see this thread but posted on the 'Lets all laugh at Liverpool thread'

Rogers says that Suarez is, 'Champing at the bit' to play against Man.Utd.

More like biting at the champs if he's true to form.
