Probably should congratulate the Gaffer on his appointment. Not how he had his career planned out but here we are. Can he end the trophy curse?

Now there's a thread title I never thought I'd see.

To think he was an up and coming former academy player at the start of Poch's tenure. Football really is a funny, funny game.

He won't stay beyond the summer but wish him the best of luck. Has had a very tough time of it and seems a top bloke so hope he does okay.

I’m sure he’ll stay at the club in some capacity

Always liked him. He was able to make those smart runs into the box (like Dele used to), wind up players on a yellow card to send them off, he was smart positionally with defensive tasks (him and Bentaleb both). I think I remember him watching U18 games together with Poch, it seemed obvious he would try coaching one day. Hopefully he is studying a lot and keeping up with new tactics, sports science, analytics etc.

couldn't defend from what I recall? nor do I remember many smart attacking runs/goals.

good luck to him, though!

Seems like a great lad but I’m not a massive fan of Mason picking players from a squad he couldn’t get in as a player a few seasons ago. Weird dynamic.

Can’t imagine it will be for long. Would be amazing to see him beat Pep Guardiola in a cup final in his second ever match as a manager though

Managing is a whole different kettle of fish.
