Thousands of empty seats at the Emirates - Is this a warning?

it's hard to guage at other clubs but i can see a LOT of games at the Lane not selling out this season. people will pay these huge prices if we are playing exciting football, scoring 2 or more a game and competing for 4th place. If our goals/game drops, we're midtable and without new star signings, I can't see most games selling out. £56 for the cheapest seats against City? i know it's a big game but that's a substantial bit of money

Haven't read the whole thread but from the first page I think people are missing something crucial about stadium economics. The key to the new stadium, as for Wembley, is the central corporate layer. This will only hold 10-15% of the total but will account for 65-75% of total gate revenue. Quite frankly if Levy can sell the boxes and corporate seats he won't care if there are 5,000-10,000 empty seats every week, just as the goons don't. Sorry to say it folks but the average punter just doesn't really matter to the clubs anymore.

There is going to be many empty seats tonight. I looked on ticketexchange on Tuesday and there were so many tickets available but I looked yesterday and ticketexchange isn't available. I wanna sit in the South Stand but I can't get tickets.

Yeah, they've completely removed the ticket exchange which is great of them. Maximum profit for the club if they sell the unsold tickets before reselling the available now I spose. Not great when they advertise the Ticket Exchange as a benefit of having a Season Ticket when they disable it.

I'm not going tonight, would have to take half a day and drive up or spend £34ish on a train up after work, get back late, be fucked for work tomorrow after watching a relatively inexperienced team against a bunch of sweatys.

I cant believe the amount of tickets still left for Manchester City. Our first home game of the season against one of the favourites for the title.

Just shows the doom and gloom around the place at the moment.

We played ManC first game of last season, don't remember a similar issue then.

There were empty seats tonight but not many. The west stand looked worst hit (no surprise), although I couldn't see the east stand. I'd say we were 75% full though, which is not bad especially considering the signals the club sent out before the game.

i would call it many empty today. of course it was a dead rubber and we all knew there'd be a lot of kids playing.

there was no way that was worth £36 and my whole evening, so i can see why a lot of people didn't bother. only good bit was John White's bro and Mackay at half time.

Man city game won't sell out for for multiple reasons. Bank holiday weekend. Too bloody expensive. It's on sky.

I posted my ticket ages ago and it still hasn't sold. Previously it's sold in minutes but there are many cheaper tickets than mine that'd presumably get snapped up. I might have to go again but I'd much rather have the money.

I'm surprised TBH, we've had similar situations (BH weekend, game on sky etc.) and it hasn't been like this. I really think this is a reflection on peoples feelings toward the performance of the club and possibly a lack of signings.
