I'm not trying to say Ramos is fantastic, I just don't think the typical comparison people make on here is balanced.

The simple fact is that Ramos has far more achievements of note under his belt than Harry does (the fact that you have to list the Intertoto Cup under Harry's record while I omitted the UEFA Super Cup from Ramos' on the grounds that it wasn't a serious comp says a lot imo).

You're lucky I missed out Redknapps Community Shield Runners up Medal

You also suggest that Harry's win percent isn't bad considering the clubs he was managing, but then Ramos' is better and look at the clubs he's managed! It's six of one...

Yeah true, but you could also argue that his career average has been massaged somewhat by the 66% he has at Madrid.. I'd hazard a guess that it's been quite some time since anyone managed much less than that at Madrid

You point out their respective records at Spurs, but that's kid of my point... we judge the two based on how they've done here and use Ramos as the archetype of a rubbish manager and Redknapp as something close to world-class. I just don't think that assessment stands up to scrutiny.

Possibly, but then Redknapp has never really managed a club that was near the top echelons of the league other than us. Seville have a decent history, similar to us in many ways and Ramos did very well for them. Put it this way, if Redknapp were a European manager and we were sat here doing our usual mid table bollocks whilst he was leading a team to the QF of the CL, potentially 4th in their domestic league and had got to the final of a national cup playing attacking football, would we not be suggesting him as a future manager.

I just think Redknapps "big break" has taken a little longer to come, but now he has it he seems to be handling it pretty well. Ramos had his at Seville, took it, then pretty much vanished from view in a couple of years

The truth is, up until coming here Harry's record was no better than Pardews. Go figure...

No, but I've never seen a Pardew team play the kind of football I'd ever want to watch
