Anyone else a bit annoyed at this....I like the good old ticket and enjoy keeping them as souvenirs.

Don't worry the clown at the Park Lane End who tries to get fans to sit down will be given a scanner so that he can not only get us to sit down but also in the right seats!!

I sat next to that Clown at wembley in the C/C final, He stunk of BO :bang:

yes.. if you use someone elses memebership to get tickets.. you will need their membership card too.

I cant believe this system is being put in place for use with handheld scanners. I have used ticketless entry systems in germany, and you scan it yourself and the turnstyle automatically lets you in. its easy to use someone elses card... but i dont think you can get away with using kids / oap tickets. (in germany there was a small red light above the turnstile that lit up when kids went through. The stewards prob aint paying that much attention, but not worth risking some kids season ticket!

I actually cant believe we are wasting money on this, when we are moving out in 3 years (hopefully)

I actually cant believe

They have the self scan turnstiles at Fulham (in the neutral stand). I don't see why we don't use the same system at WHL, surely the cost of implementing it would be cheaper than paying people to sit on the turnstiles all season long.

From the membership pack I got:
ST holders will just have a card which will have a barcode that'll get swiped at the turnstyle, apparently by a handheld scanner (which seems stupid)
Members will have tickets they buy added onto their accounts and will use that to enter, but must bring a print out of the email confirmation with them.

Why should we have to bring a printout? I would assume we'll get a receit when we enter where you can see where your seat is, much like at the airport when travelling without a ticket.

And the memberships packs for Bronze an Lilywhite are being dispatched this week, so it should arrive soon.

Maybe because there will be enough of a mess with 33000 trying to get a grasp of this system so we can start there instead of having 52000 trying to get a grasp of it at once?

Yea i was hoping it was gonna be like this, like at Wembley and at Newcastle.

Im guessing they wont bother putting in wall mounted scanners until we move to the new stadium..

I got my two ST credit cards in the mail a week ago or so. I perfer it size wise, but i agree about the guy talking about mementos, i think i have all my old ST books.

Can anyone else see this being a massive balls up? I can see this working fine for season ticket holders, but for members who don't have the same seat every game I think it'll be a mess. Without a paper ticket with confirmation of their seat some people will be swapping seats and not sitting where they should be so they can be with their mates.

you get a ticket as well, then your membership card is updated for the match for which have purchased so you can get in, not rocket science, how old are you lot moaning? 80?

Obviously, for season ticket holders its easy. You (the club) pre-program the card with what games they can see (whether they are part of the cup guarantee scheme or not)

The problem with the bronze/lilywhite members is they need to be updated every time they buy a ticket for a match, including where the seat is, and like all things there will be a balls up somewhere along the line. Taking the print out is a secondary way to show you have bought the ticket in case your membership card doesnt work.

I dont think we will have the static readers - surely they would be in place already? And why would they bother paying for them now, only to rip them out again when we have the new stadium? My only gripe is it took the guy on thursday an age to scan the barcode then decide that I was in fact in the right entrance. That might have more to do with them changing the turnstile attendants though

That wouldn't really be a ticketless system then... I'm surprised they're not using the Fiorentina game as a practice run, that would reduce the possible teething problems for the Man City game, where people will no doubt be more frustrated by any delays caused by it...

I'm going to the Wigan game, I'll definitely be at the turnstile 15-20 minutes earlier than usual.

Exactly! Also why wait? It's clearly more convienient for a lot of people so why wait 3 years to impliment it. I'd argue that it's already years late. It'd be a trivial matter to relocate the equipment to the new stadium, probably a days work if that.

Print outs are needed because some of you dozy bastards would probably forget what seat you're supposed to be in, especially the ones who've had a few pints pre-match.

Block 30 is lower East stand. They're good viewing, but not as good atmosphere wise as block 31 will be once the season starts.
