It was brought up in the ITK thread that Tim Sherwood's role in the club would be explained in more depth when the window was closed.

I'm curious more than anything as to what he does, how he contributes to the day-to-day at Spurs and why he's rated so highly. Not looking to slate him at all.

Anyone out there that can enlighten me/us?

Isn't it fairly clear?

Levy is the boss man, all roads lead to and end with him.

Beneath Levy are several senior executives each charged with a different role like Colecott is the head of finance, Eales is the club secretary. Two of these roles are technical director and technical co-ordinator, which are filled by Fun time Frankie and Tim Sherwood respectively.

Baldini is charged with the recruitment and first team matters, i.e., he heads up the scouting, is the guy who is sent to convince people to join and is directly above AVB and his staff in the overall management structure.

Sherwood is the technical co-ordinator, his brief is to oversee the development of young talent and their progression through the ranks. He directly above Chris Ramsay and Les Ferdinand in our management structure. Sherwood's role is to find out how AVB envisions us playing and to then set about developing our talent to fit into this system. So he will do some coaching, he will put together progress reports that go to Baldini and AVB. He will do all the stuff you would expect someone running our academy to do.

Here is where is gets a little more murky, Sherwood is in a more senior position than AVB, so is technically above him but is not in his chain of command. As he is above him he holds a position on our transfer committee, so his opinion matters when we are selecting which targets to go for and he clearly is trusted by Levy. However, Levy, Baldini, AVB and a few others will also have an input in order to find the best set of players that meet our needs.

I don't think the whole thing is as cloak and dagger as some make it sound. Obviously there will be small powerplays when people are trying to get their way, however overall this is the structure.

I guess the natural question is does Technical Director and Technical Co-Ordinator actually require 2 people.

Again I have no idea just asking the question.

He loans academy players to Swindon.

After the step change he brought to our transfer dealings, I would now like to see Baldini get his hands into the academy and do the same with that (after a well-deserved holiday).

The academy has got better - at least we are producing bottom half EPL quality players now. But there's still a long way to go till we get to the Barca/Ajax/Dortmund/Porto level that we're aspiring too.

In Carroll, Pritchard, Coulthirst and Ceballos we've got some good talent if Baldini can somehow improve the integration between the academy and first team squad.

If we can get Swindon into the Championship with our players that hush hush partnership could be seriously beneficial to us.

Oh and Darren Eales is also the head of Football Administration, which I think includes overseeing infrastructure improvements at the club and as he's a barrister he'll probably have had some involvement in the JR

Unfortunately it was said it would be enlightened by a guy who turned out to be a WUM. 'lookslikemodric'...?
