Listen I like a tackle as well as the next David Pleat but you need to do more than tackle. You need to be able to distribute the ball. Shooting ability would be a useful addition and positional sense helps too.
When aggression is a substitute for skill then it is negative and ultimately pointless.
Parker is not essentially a tough guy, I mean just look at his haircut and his fouls are usually the result of bad timing rather than indiscriminate aggression.
But he quite likes running into brick walls for training purposes and is not afraid to get hurt.
Ya Ya Toure seems to have the full range of abilities, Mascherano is good too though his aggresive tenedencies sometimes are to the detriment of his ability.
Essentially we want controlled aggression for a purpose not for its own sake.
