I'm not quite cynical as that lol and any other year this wouldve been the best transfer window ever, but when you consider the TV deal, HP and AIA deal along with our regular budget, we definitely have a good 50-60 million sitting in the bank.

We don't, that money is gone. We won't spend anything until next summer and even then I would only expect one or two coming in, with lots more outgoings.

We're being run like a Starbucks franchise. lol

When you consider we've been running on a loss over the last couple of years, we've had to spend on the new training center, spend purchasing the property around WHL, it's no surprise that some of the money you have mentioned has been absorbed and put to other uses.

I don't get the sudden enforced optimism around here.

Yes there is a lot to be happpy about but likewise there are some legimate concerns. I don't think anyone who puts them forward in an a mature way should be neg reppd to hell.

Final judgement will come in after our next couple of games. Still not convinced of where the goals are going to come from. We're not setup to feed our biggest goal throat, Soldado.

You'd have thought in this squad, being a striker would be a dream but no so judging by the whole of last season. They just feed off scraps.

I hope Lamela hits the ground running, because we're going to depend heavily on him cutting in to shoot.

If you expect to see immediate improvements in the next couple of games, you may as well throw in the towel and give up right now, because it takes time for a team to gel.
We have practically revamped our squad with top-quality young internationals (a third of whom haven't even set foot on the pitch at the WHL), and yet we expect immediate results.
It takes time and patience.
We have true star potential on the roster, but it will take at least 7 or 8 (possibly even 9 or 10) games before we can even begin to judge "who's doing what, and how", imho.
It doesn't happen overnight.
You know as well as I do, being a lifetime Tottenham supporter is an emotional rollercoaster ride.
There are ups and there are downs, but you support the team through the thick and thin of it.
So what, we lost 1 - 0 to the Filth round the way. We roll with the punches, recover, move on, gel, and kick some Arse (pun intended).
Cuz that's what we do, it's the Tottenham way.
Little patience and understanding goes a long way to support our team.

COYS!

Sorry for not partaking in this blind optimism.

What about the blind pessimism?

You have to laugh when some fool writes 'final judgement will come after 2 games' and as for spud expecting Spurs fans to behave like human beings, well he's a fantasist if ever I heard one!

after the window we've just had I am gobsmacked that anyone is negative and I make no apology for saying some people need to get some nuts.
quite honestly it was unbefuckinglievable, our club made a statement this summer, make no mistake about it top four is the least of our ambition.

It seems Friday is prehistory. 3 HUGE signings for a combined fee of 52 M I L L I O N pounds in one day. How are people still moaning?
We lost to the goons and they bought Ozil. I didn't know that meant a meltdown of Spurs.
We lost Bale and gained a squad depth of unmatched quality in relation to the last 2 decades. When this team starts clicking, and it will take time, we will be a powerhouse. And seeing that the average age of the team is now below 25 - the future is bright indeed.

It will be a dream for a striker to play in this team. But you have to let our team settle in, and not just for a couple of games. The there are more goals to come from this team than many of its predecessors. The two most creative players that we have brought in have still to be fielded and Hotlby hasn't played a game yet due to injury. We have a great striker to put chances away.

Absolutely priceless. Just sums up the ridiculous short termism and impatience of some 'supporters'.

Stupid stupid stupid. I don't want to play the man but this is idiotic. I bet you were calling for avb out after 3 games last season - or at least part of the '3 games to save his job' crew. You say we have nobody to feed Soldado but we've barely seen Lamela and Eriksen hasn't even appeared yet!!

This is probably the most idiotic post in the history of this forum, and by fuck there's been some bad ones.

I would expect people to demonstrate some intelligence, to view it with perspective. I expect my dogs to react to what happens now, with no understanding of a bigger picture; I expect better of human beings. I expect disappointment at sunday's result; I don't expect it to detract from the excellent transfer window we have had.

Perhaps I expect too much.
You let your dogs join SC?

It's been an ok window after bringing in around £115m in player sales the spend would be am the least I would expect to be honest.

We have brought in a lot of unproven players and we will see if it works out I personally have my doubts.

My main issue is that we have been left with a very unbalanced squad in particular our full backs. The 4 full backs we have at the club Walker, Naughton, Rose and Fryers are all English and all lack a footballing brain. They really aren't very good and certainly not good enough for so called champions league contenders.

I would expect every side we play will target both sides as it is our obvious weak link.

Actually cannot believe we haven't strengthened this obvious weakness

Unbalanced squad? Care to explain?

Not rating players is one thing, saying the squad is unbalanced is another one completely.

You're saying the FB's are unbalanced, whatever that even means? Yet we have 4 players that can play RB and 4 that can play LB;

RB - Walker, Naughton, Kaboul, Chiriches

LB - Rose, Vertonghen, Naughton, Fryers

6 CB's, a host of CM and wide forward/midfiled players and 3 forwards.

Where the hell is the unbalance in this squad?

Am I missing something?

We completely upgrade our squad buy great players ( fair enough we lose our game changer ) but the squad as a whole is so strong. We will be a force when AVB has a chance to mould the players to the way he wants to play!!

Whereas Arsenal sign one player ( yes in Ozil they have a great player and fair play on pulling that off) but was it only me that seen there bench on Sunday? It was very bare to put it kindly!
They are short in numbers if they have injuries over the busy periods who knows!

As for Man U spunking 27.5m on Fellani..LOL
