Does anyone have any news on this young man?

He was being touted as 'The New Rooney' 18 months ago.

I'm sure we had a identical thread to this about a week ago.

Anyway from what i gather he's not really been cutting the mustard in the reserves having stepped up from the academy, however, he appears to be thriving for the Czech U-21s

Also I'm pretty sure it was Dixon who was the new Rooney, Pekhart is lanky, almost Berbatov-esq in appearence.

pekhart is nothing like rooney as has already been pointed out

i remember when norman whitehouse was touted as the new best - on the compelling grounds that he was Irish I suppose - cos he was about as like Best as Gary Doherty -
ok not quite - but it gives an idea how far away he was

I expect Pekhart to make the reserve squad against Chelsea tomorrow night at Orient. I musht have seen him a dozen times now and the only goal he's scored was the penalty against Liverpool reserves.

Hopefully Simon Dawkins will get a run-out. I like him.

martin jol said something like he is the czech wayne rooney soon after he signed.

If I remember correctly, BMJ also compared our onetime Czech kid, Limbersky, with Nedved.

The point is that Pekhart is tall and lean, and a target man in the Jan Koller mode. Whilst Terry Dixon is built far more like Rooney, and is an inside forward type - in old money language...

Perkhart, Dixon, Rose, Parrett and Berchiche are the youngsters I understood to be our brightest prospects (along with O'Hara who now seems to be a first team squad member)

I have seen nothing of any of the others though im sure if any of the show enough to suggest they could do something in the first team they will get their chance with Juande, he doesnt seem shy about giving youth a chance.

Simon Dawkins? I havent heard of him, what postion and how has he impressed so far? I know a Leyton Orient fan told my aunt that they have a Spurs youngster on loan who looks amazing (all be it at that level) Im assuming that is Charlie Lee although when I looked up who we have on loan to them it could also have been Andy Barcham??

I would love to see more and more youth players come through and become top quality first team players for us, they have been too few and far between in recent years. We certainly have invested in youth so it will be a measure of how well our DOF set up is working

Andy Barcham is the man at Orient, and he scored for them on the weekend before being injured and having to go off.
