Robbo, Cerny, Chimbonda, Lee, Kaboul, Gardner, Tainio, Malbranque, Berbatov, Keane. Maybe Ekotto, Stalteri and Boateng too. Added to Defoe's January departure.

That's a lot of our squad either gone or going. Plus Hutton and King injured , Bale not yet ready.

Hopefully we will get a few in. We need to !

Anyone else getting concerned ?

Hmm I was but if we continue to make the signings of the standard we have been then we will have a massively improved squad. Alot of those players we have done very well to have got the amounts we have for them and players such as Robbo,Chimbo,Tainio,Malbranque etc are all fairly decent players but not quite good enough, and you compare them to Gomes,Hutton,Modric and Dos Santos and far far better and they are of the quality required to win things.

Not worried at all yet, for a few reasons. We have a considerably large squad, which quite rightly needs clearing out. I don't think we'll sell all of those players mentioned, probably half at most, and there's still 37 days of the transfer window left. Don't worry, my boy.

I don't think it's too many changes if newcomers are better than old ones, so I'm not concerned... yet.

i dont think i have ever seen a manager make so many changes in such a short space of time, time will only tell but he has to have something lined up and it will happen very soon (i hope)

Back when Levy bought in this 'european management system' the idea behind it - was it not? - that when new managers came in the turn around of players wouldn't be so big.

Anyone else remember that sorta quote flying around?

not being funny but if hutton was badly injured would the press not have mentioned it? or it be on the official site? Im betting he is fine but just wanted to leave a few players for the game on monday.

Yes I am concerned.... but not worried. I'm going on the assumption that Ramos +/or Comolli have better players lined up.

When making big changes its a bit of a game. Do you sell first and then look desperate to buy (inflating the going prices) or buy then look desperate to sell to balance the books (deflating offers)?

As I say I trust Ramos to do the right things - his results weren't too shabby at Sevilla - but my concern is how he can mould the new squad with so many potential holes to be filled into a fluent fighting machine in 3-4 weeks. My fear is that will be impossible and we kick off "uphill". Just hope we're still in the mix when we turn around and kick "downhill" into 2009

Oh and if Hutton is crocked what sense in selling Chimbo now? With only Gunter (how many games did he play last season?) as back up shouldn't we have held him until Jan?

Note to self: "I trust Ramos, I trust Ramos........

just because ramos might have 'better players' lined up doesnt mean we will be ok. we are losing alot of experienced premiership players, and in berbs and keane a chunk of our spine.

imo if all the proposed transfers do go through it is too many changes. but we'll just have to wait and see what happens

That is a very good point and one I should have mentioned at the start of this thread. If we are going to more or less discard more than half of our squad just because we have a new coach then why bother to have the 2 tier system ?

If we'd had a good season last year, and finished top 5-6, then all the changes may have been cause for concern.

As it is, however, with a mid-table finish and lacklustre performances a good few changes were probably in order.

The changes we're going through, IMO, are good and bad.

Good because we needed a revamp. There was a lot of dead wood that needed pruning.

Bad because those changes will take time to be assimilated (We are Tottenham of Borg!). The bad thing has been the protracted nature of our signings. As I remember it, Juande wanted his signings in place by the middle of July, is that right? It seems obvious that that hasn't happened, for whatever reason. The applecart has also been further destabilised by the bastard actions of two of the Top Bastards, with regard to the Tottenham Traitors (you know who they are).

We shall have to wait and see. Ramos has been tipped as one of the best managers in football, and I shall put my faith in his ability to mould us into winners.

Oh, and also...

COYS!

Chimbo is just as good as Hutton maybe better .

Chelsea did want him and when he feels like it he is one of the best right backs in the World .

Clearly his mind is a long way from a football pitch half the time .

Most of the squad, not worried, we're making improvements.
Our forward line, cacking my pants!

Would be nice to get a top-class DM too!
