I've just done the BBC predictor and have been using my head rather than heart with the results.

Have us losing a fair few games.

Here's my breakdown of our results

Drawing at home with both Scum and Chavski plus Man City losing away to Fulham, ManUre, Liverpool, Man City. Drawing away with Sunderland, Stoke, Blackburn, Everton and Wigan and winning away to Wolves, Birmingham, Burnley (last game of the season and they won't have anything to play for as have them safe mid table) and winning at home against Spammers, Hull, Wolves, Portsmouth, Fulham, Villa, Everton, Blackburn and Bolton.

This leaves the table looking like this

1Man United95
2Chelsea94
3Liverpool75
4Tottenham70
5Arsenal68
6Man City68
7AstonVilla65
8Sunderland52
9Everton52
10Stoke51
11Fulham50
12Blackburn42
13Burnley41
14WestHam38
15Bolton36
16Birmingham35
17Wigan35
18Portsmouth35
19Hull31
20Wolves17

So it is very realistic. We should beat those teams at home (maybe we will pick up another away win and maybe lose or draw a couple of those home games but it won't be too different ?)

I'm sure it won't end up like this and am very surprised that Manure take the title from the Chavs

So we definately have a chance if we keep playing the way we are. We don't have to win many away games (i've only got us winning 3) to get 4th spot ?

What do you guys think ? Am I being deluded ?

If we get 70 points I think we will do it... Whether Liverpool get 75 largely depends on whether they bite the bullet and get Torres his hernia operation rather than try to keep rushing back and breaking down.

I think they will gamble in January and spend some dosh on a striker. They won't have the Champs league cash for the rest of the season and can't gamble on losing that next year.
I think the Scum will try the same too so we better watch out that they will be circling us as we will be the ones to threaten them.
Don't think any of our players would go to either (especially Keane or Crouch) but watch out for Modric or Defoe as they could easily leave.
Hoping not though

you could argue that jan is a big chance for us to make 1 major signing to give us that final boost. this chance might not come around for a few years. city are still gelling and liverpool look weaker than ever.

Sorry Liverpool will not finish above Arsenal (might sneak in above us - but definitely not on current form) Arsenal will have a shocking season (i wish), and hopefully they wont finish above us, but in fairness

We'll do ok, but looking at that table, and if Liverpool finish 3rd, we'll finish 2nd...

Modric and Defoe won't leave. Defoe is perfectly positioned and settled to allow his world cup dream become a reality. Modric won't play again until late December and will not be considered by many as a transfer target as he will be spending most of January getting back in the groove.

I think that Pav is on his way, given the amount of media space his agent is drumming up and it wouldn't surpise me to see OHara's loan made permanent while Bentley could find himself being pushed out of the door too.

As for incomings, possibly a keeper, and maybe that Sandra fella from Brasil.

Those movements in the january window will see our squad grow stronger and ready for a push on top four, but i'll be pleased with fifth, or whatever it takes for Europa.

Even though you may have used your brain to predict our results, youve probably let your bias affect your predictions for the rest of the teams.

I don't think I have. I've only had the scum losing away a couple of times up north like Bolton.. I've also had them losing to Man Ure but drawing against Pool, Chavs and beating everyone else really.

I've really tried to look at historically how teams fair against each other.

The trouble with doing predictors in November is that it doesn't take into account injuries/suspensions/form or anything like that... I mean if you'd done it before the last international break, how many more points would you have afforded Arsenal assuming they'd have van Persie for the whole season?

I suppose [cliché] things even themselves out [/cliché], though...

It goes without saying that I fooking hate Ar5ena1, but I can 't see us staying above them all season. They will manage to pull another Lasagnegate again.

You're probably right, but actually how good are they this season? They've played 4 decent teams and lost 4 times, much like us. The only difference being that they deserved to lose at Sunderland and we deserved to beat Stoke.

It's all well and good beating the lower half-teams at home, its how you get on away from home that counts and I really believe that we are better equipped to deal with teams on the road than either pool or arsenal and especially city.

In all likelihood the scum will finish above us, but it will be close. Our avarage since Feb of this year has us finishing on 70 pts, our average since Harry joined 40 odd games ago has us finishing on 67 pts, either way, that will be very close to 4th and I think we've not hit top form yet!

When Mods comes back we'll be even better!

Gomes

Corluka Woody King bae

Lennon Wilson Niko Mods

Defoe Keane/Crouch

That is as good as anything that Pool or Arsenal can put out!

Liverpool will not make up 75 points from here. They've been sheissen by their standards and I really can't see them finishing above the Arse. Likewise, Chelski have dominated and I can't see them relinquishing their lead to Utd.

I agree though with your estimations of the majority of our fixtures, although it's probably a best case scenario.

If we can pull in 70 points, we'll finish 4th and possibly challenge the scum for 3rd depending on how they cope without Rapist Van Placenta.

i agree there is no way liverpool will get 75 points
they are awful and have been very lucky to get most of the wins they have got already , we will finish above them , whether thats in 4th place remains to be seen but i cant see them finishing in the top 4 , there time is well and truly up

Not in January. Never in a month of Sundays.
