Top 6 English clubs in order

So had lunch today with 2 friends. One a Liverpool supporter the other an American Chelsea fan ( who’s PL knowledge is a bit sketchy) Anyway the American asked how would you put the top 6 English teams in order. Blimey it got really heated and I didn’t realise how difficult it actually is.

- The obvious one for 1/2 I said Liverpool as you have to consider United recent form. The Yank said City and tbh made a decent argument.
- How do you split City and Chelsea ?
- Are we now actually bigger than Arsenal probably not but we are bigger on a lot of criteria. Above them for years, stadium, revenue, European trophies. I just gave it to them. So this was my order.

Chelsea should be above City, they’ve won more trophies in the last decade for a start, including a couple of European cups. ?

Hate to say but just doesn’t sound right to right now say City are the 4th biggest club, their domestic trophy haul in last 5 years is ridiculous.

On entire history wouldn't you put Liverpool above Utd? They've won same number of titles/domestic trophies and double the amount of European cups 6 to 3

For United supposed status their lack of European trophies compared to other European super clubs is pretty poor I think they have 7. Was saying to someone they’ve only really had 1 successful manager in last 70 years. Commonly hear people put them with Barca and Real but i think their status is a tad overrated and Liverpool a tad underrated. I think stadium is a real factor it’s like the cherry on top. If Liverpool had a 75k stadium I think they’d be viewed differently.

Actually it’s 5 main trophies and a super cup and Cwc. Weird that if we’d won CL final we’d have just 1 less than them.

Then loads of teams could argue any of Chelsea, Everton, Aston villa, Man city and us.

There is absolutely no arguement for putting city top. Recency bias is a bias but not an arguement to establish the best of all time.
