Our squad is young and energetic. If Poch rotates right, then I feel we can fight on all three fronts.

So nicdic and sweech as you both disagreed can you enlighten me to when you thought we either a) won the title in the last 55 years or b) when we was last in the race. cos I don't remember either.
There's a lot more than that which you put in there to be disagreed with.

It's pretty simply based on the assumption we should drop all other comps to chase the title. Not a complex idea. That's what I disagree with and that's what I assume Nicdic disagrees with as well.

Almost all our competition (bar Leicester) have European matches as well and quite honestly it's not like their squads are much (if even at all) better. So I don't see the big deal in taking that competition seriously.

Somewhat ironic that our fans always moan about a lack of ambition shown by Levy, yet they show absolutely none themselves.

Depends what you mean by seriously. If Eriksen, Dier and Kane play Europa League this year, then Spurs will be back in it next season.

and trying to lose it is the mark of a *****
I said for one season, get a grip of yourself, if we qualify for the CL then that is us finished with the EL for good. but no you

Arsenal should be out next round. AND they play their games on Wednesday and so have longer to recover and prepare.
We could have close to 8 or 10 games more than lester and arsenal its asking too much.

I would love it for us to win all 3, I'm worried we may get ko'ed in the late stages of EL lose a FAC semi and what limp into 4th. what a wank season that would end up being.

For good is a little over the top. I get your sentiment, but I'm sure Liverpool, Chelsea and United might have felt similarly about the EL and yet all have dropped out of the top four, so it's never for good.

But that's a little by the by, I think the issue is more complex than that.
You can't deliberately sack off competitions, not even by fielding youth teams as you get fined for disrespecting a competition.

Additionally I can't imagine the players would be happy. They will firmly believe they have a chance of winning all competitions they are in. It's kinda the whole point to building a strong winning mentality. Sacking off competitions gives the wrong message.

It's unfair on travelling fans too.

But the clincher for me personally is using your same logic. What if... What If we sacked off everything bar the league and STILL finished fourth, or worse! There are no easy games the premier league.

No, we have to continue to juggle all of them as best we can. We still have decent squad depth and as long as Pochettino feels the boys can handle it, then I'm as a fan happy to see us compete on all fronts.

Finally, assuming we are in the UCL next season and that's still a big If, then we need to be mentally and physically prepared for long seasons competing on multiple fronts.

How exactly will we have 8 or 10 more than Arsenal? I don't think you did your math right there at all.

Strange that they've played it up to this point and yet we're in 3rd then...

He means because they are out of the CL after the nxt round I think.
And?

The max we could do for Europa is 7 more than Arsenal and that's us making the final. Which would be a wonderful run, not sure why anyone would turn that down over a handful of games.

Round of 16 (2 games)
Quarter final (2 games)
Semi final (2 games)
Final (1 game)

That's not complicated math.

Even then do Arsenal's results really affect our chances of top 4? Man U are the big question mark and I don't see them going out against that Danish side.

Also Arsenal could conceivably go further than us in the FA Cup as they always get favourably easy draws at home it seems.

At least hopefully there wasn't a comma or exclamation Mark out of place or the full force of the po po could end up here.
Chill dude.

I'm sorry, but I feel like if someone wants to have a debate and post that much they can at least get the simplest of facts straight. 7 games is not "8 or 10". If you can't get the simplest of things correct it's really not worth paying attention to. It's the post level equivalent to a Lawrenson prediction.

I'm sure if your paycheque was 70% less than it should have been and your boss told you whoopdy do we got our math wrong and not to be so pedantic and just chill you would feel differently.

But it's not my pay and if it was and our buisness manager said that I'd choke the shit out a him (he's a twat)

It's just a Internet forum (albeit a good one ahem Rob ;))
People post what's in their heads I'm not certain doing a technical study on your post and then sending it to your PA for proof reading is a requirement for membership if that makes you angry then supporting spurs must give you a borderline coronary weekly :D
We already have spelling police and grammar police maths police is pushing it haha :p

Why would supporting Spurs give me a weekly coronary?

Someone saying "X" is going to happen because of "Y" when it turns out "Y" isn't even correct I'm then allowed to rebuff why the validity of the result "X" should then be called into question.

Not sure why accuracy should be shunned simply because it's an Internet football forum? Especially when the matter in question takes about two seconds to figure out.

Unless I can rely on you to then back me up and argue with any who disagree with me if I go around the forum and start saying Alli should be benched for Lamela because Alli only has 3 goals and Lamela has 8 because I just decided to pull he numbers out of my head and they're still a little close to the real ones.

Mate your entitled to your opinion
I'm just saying sometimes people post in haste he wasn't saying this is fact just a possibility I get it he was incorrect about the number but the point was still valid even if mathematically out by 1 or 2
If that's your thing fair play to you we all have bug bears it just seemed a bit pedantic to me apples and oranges so I'll apologise for annoying you further and drop it my bad.

Are Arsenal and City going to sack off the CL intentionally to focus on the PL? We have a young squad that is being rotated well and we haven't suffered by playing in midweek much at all this season, if anything. It's ironic that you want to give up on our midweek European matches so that we can qualify for next season's midweek European matches. Plenty of teams cope with 2 fixtures a week throughout the season; the EL messing up a season is purely fiction that has been said enough times people believe it's actually a thing.

Well if he's so sure that only 7 games will hugely influence our season wouldn't the same logic apply to 3 more? That's nearly half the real number that he believes could de-rail us.

It's his argument, not mine and since his argument hinges on such small margins, shouldn't he then be accurate with them?

Not to mention didn't we start performing poorly last year when we had dropped out of the competition?

So we've basically proved to our own selves that dropping out doesn't mean an upturn in results. Like so many seem to think will magically occur.

Yeah, because last time we finished in the top 4 we stayed in Champions League and didn't go back to that stupid EL, am I right?

No guarantees in football. Go for it all while you have it. We are the youngest team in England and probably in Europe with a damn good squad.
