Since our last EL game we have played 9 league games winning 7

During the EL group stage games we played 9 league games and won only 3

We haven't played a top 6 team since the Arsenal match before the Anderlecht game so it's no surprise that the results are different.

Edit: Missed out Leicester but the point stands, during the EL group stages we played Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and possibly City?

we have more depth than arguably anyone in the league right now

We have the youngest squad (not arguable) than anyone in the league right now

we will have fresh young rotatable legs throughout barring injury *knocks on wood*

Should compete in all competitions imo but would certainly prioritize league matches we are legimate contenders let's win the fucking league

We didn't lose a league game during the EL group stage I don't think? Lost once before the first game and twice after the last group game. Though Newcastle was immediately after the last group game

Hmm, this is an interesting table.
It shows we are generally on par with our annual performances and highlights perhaps more the state of the league rather than some amazing progress on our behalf.

Not to say we haven't progressed, because we clearly have. We have an identity and a style and a very young squad, but we are not so much flying high, but witnessing the league implode around us and have been one of the few teams to remain stable, inspite of the big changes.

I mean look, during Redknapp's peak we were 5 pts better off than now, that's pretty remarkable and yet then it was only good enough for 3rd. This season we would be top.

Leicester run in :

Arsenal(A), Norwich(H),WetBrom(H),Watford(A),Newcastle(H),Palace(A),Sunderland(A),Swansea(H),WestHam(H),United (A),Everton(H),Chelsea(A)

After Arsenal they have nearly 6 to 7 winnable fixtures & in the end have 3 tough games. But then, in those 7 winnable, there are quite a few relegation candidates. I would expect those teams to sit back & back try nick a draw against Leicester. Leicester may not lose more games, but certainly expect them to draw few games.

If we want the title, we got to take the chance when presented.

I do not agree with that I make that 7 very tough games for them possibly 8 it's not as easy a run in as everyone is making out that's for certain.

Leicester seem to thrive when they are the underdogs. If they can do it against sides who park the bus and look for a point then they will win the league and deservedly so. I can only see them losing maybe once more, but there will be a few draws in there. Need to keep toe to toe with them and hope they lose their bottle at the end!

Let's be honest if we had that run in we would be creaming ourselves and claiming the title was ours to lose

True...but look back at last few year PL results of big clubs. Relegation candidates games have been coupon busters. Thing with Leicester is -we dont know what will happen when their bubble bursts. All it may need is 2 back to back draws with Norwich & WBA

I doubt we would knowing spurs fans
Just the last 4 games are all very easy to lose unless you are fully on it add the pressure if your still top to them 4 games it would be very easy to mess it up

A lot hinges on next week and whilst it's never over until it's over...
If Leicester beat Arsenal - I think they go on to win the title
If we lose or draw - then I think we don't go onto win the title.

If Arsenal and Man City win (cringe) then it's blown wide open, but we're back to being on the back foot.

I keep forgetting about that, next season might be a tricky one for PL teams, newcomer's Leicester will find it hard as will we IMO as we won't be a top seeded team for the group stages. Then you'll have the classic Arsenal bottle job of going out in the round of 16 and City are pants in Europe..
You are top seeded if you won the league next year.... New rules

I don't think it's a blight on the league or to say the league has become easier is true. I think the league is now harder than it has ever been with every single team having one or two players who could play for one of the bigger clubs. It's always been true to say anyone can beat anyone but I think it's doubly true now. I think the points need to win the league will never reach the heights it did when Chelsea & City has such disparate spending power and United had SAF. Therefore, the points Poch has put on the board is *more* impressive than at any other time

too many variables. a serious injury to any key players will take any team out of the title race immediately. can you imagine how epic it would be if we nick the title on the last day

Kind of agree but there are so many points left to be dropped after next weeks results that I think it'll go to the wire.
Arsenal Man U/City and us are dropping points left right and centre.
Looking at last 5 games on motd we're the only team to have 4 wins and its been like that for everyone for weeks. So if no one can string 4 wins together it'll go to the wire unless we arsenal or city completely crash which wont happen.
The most important thing is that when we do draw or lose a game we don't go into meltdown. Sure we wont.

I dread the moment the accursed Europa League starts again. Then and only then will we know if we can pull off a top 4 finish...
