Why top 2? Have you literally not read the fucking thread for the last few pages?

No I haven't read back through the 158 pages on the off chance somebody has asked that question.

And as to 'why top 2?' I asked top 2 because we are allocated 4 CL spots in England. if the winners of the CL get entry to the following seasons competition, and EL get a CL spot, that leaves 2 more spaces.

I assumed the Eufa wouldn't allow 5 teams from one league.

But thanks for being a prick about it.

It's been well documented that the rules have changed; in fact Spain had 5 teams in the CL this season.

First three places are safe irrespective of other factors.
Looking at the United situation, if we achieve 1.5 points per game, not unreasonable, that will be eighteen more points which means United will need twentynine points to top us or 2.5 ish points per game, up til now they have achieved just over 1.5 points per game.
That seems pretty conclusive to me.

I think it's time for another couple of bets... 13/2 for the FA Cup and 16/1 for the Europa League. A couple more tenners, I reckon. Paid for by the first bet... I wonder what the combined odds for a treble would be...

I bet on the treble at 500/1 (SkyBet) a week or so ago. When I checked yesterday it was down to 400/1

Yeah I've seen that question answered at least two dozen times already and sadly that's not even an exaggeration.

I've just given up answering it myself at this point.

I answer it in hope eventually it doesn't get asked again ("more fool me") in hope I can read the thread and enjoy it, instead of time wasting.

I don't expect people to read the whole thread, and if a thread is on a topic that I think of following has plenty of pages, I usually read the 1st few pages to get the feel, then perhaps 10 pages until I catch up.

very rarely ask questions, but that's due to having some knowledge about football, though think I learnt a small lesson on the stadium thread. think that had 300 pages and I never even tried to catch up, asked a question "wrong choice" and since then made an effort to try and stay up with a thread, just in case I do have to ask

Just realised that next season will be the last at White Hart Lane as we know now :(
I hope our team ensures we qualify for CL (3rd place if possible) and celebrate the final season with CL football

Just goes to show what a strange season this is. Feels like we are head and shoulders above what we have done before yet only 1 point more than AVB's last season.

This season the 'top teams' haven't been beating all the other teams so regularly - so the top teams (including us) have fewer points whilst middle ranking teams have got more.

So this season the PL champions will not have as many points as recent seasons (lowest for a few years) and equally the 4th placed is likely to have fewer than some previous years.

So comparing the no of points Spurs got in a previous season versus this season will not tell you what position we get this season.

Rooney out for 1-2 months. Probably a blessing for United. Can play Martial up top. Might force them to play Depay on the left, Mata in the hole and Lingard out on the right. Pretty dynamic front four all things considered. If Depay can be something better than the complete shit he's been, they could be way better off.

Massive blow for United. Rooney has been on very good form and missing him will damage their squad. Top 4 is already done, lets just hope Chelsea don't win the Champions league knowing our luck.
