I'm all for this signing if it means we can shift Dier. Frees up a non HG space which is an added bonus. Probably something similar going on with our interest in Johnson.

Yep. Tosin for Dier makes total sense. Tosin has good pace, good height and not bad on the ball either plus HG.

Keeping Dier seems pretty pointless tbh. Crap in a high line, poor 1v1 defender and with the mobility of an oil tanker. Just cannot see any situation where Ange would want to turn to him as it would compromise his whole system and no surprise he hasn't even made the bench for our games so far.

So if we can get him out the door and bring Tosin in, think it's a clever piece of business.

He watched VDVs first 2 games and knew he’d just be stuck on the bench. Wants to start somewhere and at 25 can’t blame him.
I agree. Fair play to the guy. In a world where loss of people are going to Chelsea with zero chance of playing, he’s prioritising his actual playing career

Think his profile is suited to what we are trying to do but can't blame him if he is holding out for Monaco tbh. First team football and maybe wants a different experience. From his point of view think it's fair to question just how much game time he'd see if he moved to us, especially as we don't have European football.

Tottenham step up talks with Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo - but Spurs face competition from Monaco to land the highly-rated 25-year-old

  • Tottenham are looking to secure a deal for Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo
  • Ligue 1 side AS Monaco are also chasing Adarabioyo in competition with Spurs
  • Daniel Levy has spent over £70m on James Maddison and Micky van de Ven
Tottenham are stepping up talks with Fulham for centre back Tosin Adarabioyo but will face some competition from French side AS Monaco.

After selling Harry Kane to Bayern Munich for £100m, Spurs are prepared to loosen the purse strings in a bid to back new manager Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham have already brought in James Maddison from Leicester for £40m and Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven for £34.5m, but have set their sights on further defensive reinforcements.

Central defender Adarabioyo has held talks with the north London club, but Ligue 1 side Monaco are also looking to lure the Englishman away from the Premier League.

Tosin really isn’t anything special.

It just shows how desperate we are for HG players.

Agree. I think he will just be another player we sign who we are then struggling to move on or get our money back on in 18/24 months time.

Agree he's nothing too special but he does seem very suited to Ange's style of play.

There really aren't too many many very fast CBs that are decent on the ball and affordable in the market, let alone being homegrown.

Given we can't offer European football I'm not sure it really makes sense to drop like 50-60m to get a genuinely top class CB that will end up sitting on our bench most weeks or block VdV's development. I think a signing like Tosin makes sense given where we're at right now.
