Brought in by Antonio Conte at Tottenham after a successful spell together at Inter Milan, Ivan Perisic did well under the Italian manager despite the club’s struggles, but he doesn’t appear to be of any use to Ange Postecoglou.

Best for all concerned. He did well with assists but watching him try to defend in the PL was excruciating. And he was very obviously Conte's man.

Well, that's not much of a surprise, if true. He's a 34 year old wing back and we've signed a new manager who likes working with young players and favours a back 4.

It speaks to the ruthlessness referred to over the last week or so - maybe something along the lines of "You're free to go, and we'll make up the difference on your new contract + a bit extra for not keeping you around for the full duration of your contract."

No longer needed. Was good on set pieces but we've got Maddison and Porro now. Need him off the wage bill.

Terminate contract? Unless he has another club lined up we'll have to pay him out, that's the Harry Winks fee gone.

Would think a compromise with us not having to break the bank could be worked out if he has somewhere he wants to go. Need to get rid.

Pretty sure we've had a lot of ITK on DL being very concerned with the wage bill as much as anything so this would be another on fair wages to free up.

I don't disagree that we should look to move Perisic on - but with the increasing likelihood of Kane and Hojbjerg leaving and the logical presumption that Lloris will bring his tenure to a close - we are looking short on experience/leadership..

I don't think the leadership qualities of Perisic and Hojbjerg are anything to write home about personally. We do need some though.

On the pitch, I agree.

But Hojbjerg for example was often cited as one of the senior players in the dressing room and part of the players committe etc - I guess he was seen as a Leader in the changing room 🤷‍♂️

Yeah my guess is we'd come to an agreement rather than paying the entire remainder and then he'd benefit by getting a longer contract/signing on fee at a new club?

This is how the thread title appears on my screen and if I'm completely honest, I think it's a bit over the top but if it means we get Tapsoba as well as VDV then OK carry on.

Spot on mate!

His best days are behind him and he doesn't fit with Ange's style of football at all and we need to cut down the squad.

Good we are making decisions like this this summer to be ruthless.
