Replaces Kaboul or Chiriches. I expect this one gathered pace after Winston Reid signed a new contract.

The feeling is entirely different when reported by the press. I'd prefer we have ITK on this when there's this element of doubt.

Come on where are you all ITK?

The 22-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough season at the German club, starting in 24 of their 25 Bundesliga matches, and he has impressed Tottenham with his composure, physicality and aerial ability.

Very un-Spursy i'd say.....................:D

Sounds like a good investment and a good all around defender. I have seen glimpses of him this season and his positional play is very good indeed and from what i have seen of him he has a turn of pace and (from limited viewing) does not get turned easily.

Good fucking news and good to see that something is being done about shoring up our defence.

Not exactly the Naybet type signing our inexperienced squad is crying out for.

In fairness Eddie Levy has done spending on mid to late twenties Carlos-Kick-A-Balls, and alleged Diamonds that fail to sparkle in a Spurs shirt. Soldado and the Golden Child are mistakes that Levy will never make again.

I'm much more disappointed that 'Carlos kick-a-balls' couldn't sort his head out enough to score goals, than anything else this season. Although the demise of Kaboom has also bothered me somewhat... :(

This is the right sort of defender to sign by the sound of it though. Poch's system won't work otherwise. I know people are saying that this Wimmer is a replacement for kaboul or Chiriches, but in first 11 terms, he might actually be a replacement for Dier.

I think that's unfair on Dier. As I see it, he was bought as "one for the future" and it was only the disappointing performance of our first-choice CBs that's forced Poch to use him regularly in the first team so early.

Dissapointed.
No 'born Wimmer' jokes.
Wake up SC for goodness sake.
Looks OK but don't they all.
