Journalist Lyall Thomas has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur actually always had Guglielmo Vicario as their first-choice goalkeeper target this summer despite heavy links with David Raya.

Lyall isn't actually wrong.

This is where things are always going to get confusing. As I stated when he signed he was always Gabaninni's first choice. Depending on who you talk to you could have two or three different answers all being correct. We were speaking to both throughout and both were gettable. We pulled the trigger on Vicario, simple as that.

Have Brentford announced their latest price for Raya , has it come down ?
Is Leo allowed to chat with Paratici, his ban was relaxed. ?

According to Ally Gold, Paratici's ban has been relaxed a little and he's now working as a consultant for both Spurs and Sampdoria in some capacity (Samp just appointed Paratici's man Pirlo as their manager).

No idea how heavily involved he is now but I think he's still playing some small part behind the scenes.

Despite his book cooking, he knows his onions, and was doing good things for us. Maybe not on the sales front, but behind the scenes things were looking up.

Yes his ban was relaxed , don't think he can talk to player agents but no reason he can't help our chief scout with some advice on transfer targets , seems to me we are still employing Paratici tactics.
I know he is guilty of cooking the books but that has been the Juventus way for years with various law breaches.
I hope he returns after his ban, I liked his transfer window interviews and it was refreshing to have someone near the top at Spurs communicating with fans.
