You watching tonight? Mckennie showing how class he is. As I said for me he’s levels above Skipp and would certainly offer us something a bit different but do agree it’s not a priority position at all.

He has had all the time he needs tonight (so far anyway).
Sissoko would look half decent out there....

He is a good player, but I would rather we invest in other areas of the squad.

I’m watching. I think he looks good but not special though I don’t like rating players on such short windows.

Oh yea he’s nothing special but he’s better than skipp imo and just offers something a bit more attacking and creative. I’ve watched him a lot for juve, I think he’d be another Bentancur Kulu type signing who has a few more levels to go up if playing regularly in the right system etc.

He'd do well in the Prem. Think it would be a shrewd signing.

I agree, but for a different and inferior team.
From the USA vs England game, his athleticism stood out. However he seems very raw and technically average or below average. He isn't on Bentacur's level and I'm not sure Bisouma's either (certainly not the Brighton Bisouma). At best he would be fighting PEH but that's not nailed either.

Completely different player to Bentancur and Bissouma and PEH. No point comparing.

USA’s whole midfield 3 were very good. Mckennie does look worth a punt from that viewing

He's a completely different player to Skipp too who you've been comparing him to.
Yea fair altho that is because he’d likely replace him in the current 4 whereas there is no way he’d be coming in to replace any of the other 3.
Most likely situation imo would be that we keep all 4 of the current CM’s inc Skipp and add McKennie this summer as a 5th more progressive n.o8 type option but if in theory we did sell skipp and bring in mckennie then imo that would be a nice mix of options in the midfield 2 whereas right now the mix is a tad overly defensive however in a 3-4-3 it is true that the 2 CM’s don’t tend to get forwards much and it’s more when in a midfield 3 that mckennie would be more handy as he was tonight in USA’s 4-3-3.

Different CM to what we have. Gets more forward than Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Bissouma or Skipp would. Whether he is right for us is for Fabio & Antonio to decide. COYS.

Good talking to you all. Hank is still alive. Sse you on the flip side.

I think if he does join the likely situation is he gets played in the wing or as a WRB. We are short of quality/depth in those positions now, and McKennie's athleticism would be useful there.
Even if Skipp doesn't progress and remains average he is still HG, and on this showing McKennie isn't influential enough to push him out.

We need to bring in a proper RWB and a proper wide right player, not try to convert McKennie into either of them. In CM, Bissouma has been used in the wrong position and should be our dynamic 8 (where he excelled for Brighton). Skipp has been given virtually zero opportunities since his injury layoff, but prior to that Conte was full of praise for him. I really can't see where WM fits in or how he is any sort of priority for us when there are a few 100% obvious areas we should be addressing. We don't have non HG squad places to waste on signings like this imo. We also have Sarr waiting in the wings who I think could be a fantastic player in the near future.

I agree thats why i said in my initial post that WM would probably make it in PL but doesn't suit us.

Having said that it wouldn't surprise me if our recruitment wants to do the 'square pegs into round holes' thing, to accomodate a lower price. WK is entering his prime so still has time to learn, plus I dont think WRB is a difficult position to learn.

It is (for Conte) if you're Djed Spence (who's been playing there his whole career as far as I know).
