Suggesting that we bring back two 30+ players on high wages as a way of investing in the squad.

They are both exceptionally talented players who will add match winning quality. The fees will also be low. Berbatov is still much better than anything we've got at the club.

We can then supplement them with a younger, top striker and a play making midfielder like Moutinho.

So it's not dumb...it's clever!

Sorry its not going to happen, Rafa left because of family, Daniel would not have Berbs back if Berbs paid him.

Apparently not - According to Richard Cracknell, who's well-informed, Rafa squared up to AVB and was thus, unsurprisingly, sold. What a plum.

I'm not buying that. From the interviews he has given since and Sylvie's twitter comments, it sounds like he wasn't going to be the first name on the team sheet so decided that he would rather be with his family.

Hauntingly similar to the interview Modric gave to the media the summer before he left!

We've heard it all before.. and not just Modric..

We all think it'll be different this time and until those offers come in it's difficult to tell..

Greg Stobart - one of the better sources at Tottenham

If true it shows what a lot of us suspect, that Bale's agents don't have the best interests of the player at heart, they just want to make money by flogging him.

Agents really are the curse of the modern game, maybe his Dad should represent him

Don't agree that his agents don't have his best interests at heart, they are giving him as many options as possible. It will be him that chooses and it looks like he wants to stay for another year. If he does, he will have been here 7 years, for me that is a great commitment and if he goes on to a top CL club then I really wouldn't begrudge it. Generally I agree about agents though, I think it come hand in hand with the mercenaries in the game.

New contract for Bale and signing Villa would be a crackin start to the summer and 4th place (should we miss out) will be quickly forgotten about.

"Adebayor is expected to be followed out of the exit door by 35-year-old defender William Gallas and midfielders Tom Huddlestone and Gylfi Sigurdsson, who are keen to find more regular first-team football."

Was enjoying it until i read that.

Complete bollocks

Mistake to get rid of big Tom. Good player.
